Restaurant news:

Part 1
ASTV:When did you come to Canada? Would you please tell us how you felt about Canada at the beginning?
Owner: My wife and I moved to Canada in 2001. We loved the environment and the life pace. It was really comfortable.

Part 2
ASTV:When did you start your business? What was the greatest challenge when you tried to start your business? And how did you overcome it? Please brief to us how you managed to start the restaurant.
Owner:I worked as a chef in a Korean restaurant when I arrived in Canada in 2001, and I sought to integrate Korean food with Chinese food.
Challenges: I started the restaurant in 2011, and it worked badly at first, as customers didn’t catch our uniqueness.
Countermeasure: I lowered the price to attract customers, and they came to find us good.

Part 3
ASTV:When did the restaurant start business? Why do you think you can succeed today? What’s the key to your success? And what’s most special about your restaurant?
Owner:It started business in Mar. 2011.
Uniqueness: We perfectly integrate Korean flavor into Beijing Roast Duck. Unlike traditional Beijing crispy roast duck, we take off the skin and flesh of roast duck and boil the skeleton into soup bases for Korean hot pot. This is very welcomed among our customers.

Part 4
ASTV:The rise of commodity price and labor leads to higher cost of running a restaurant. How would you handle such a situation?
Owner:
① Trying to reduce the cost of labor, like supporting the kitchen with my wife; and my daughter often gives a hand.
② Reducing wastes and saving costs.

Part 5
ASTV:Many successful entrepreneurs will choose to conduct philanthropy, like offering donations to some hospitals and schools. What do you think of this?
Owner:I’m fully in favor of it, although I could only donate some foods at times. I’m still willing to contribute to the local philanthropy as long as I can.

Part 6
ASTV:Congratulations again to you and your restaurant for winning the honor of “the Best Asian Food in Canada 2013”. How do you feel about it?
Owner:I’m so honored that I won the award, and I’ll make greater efforts in running the restaurant to satisfy my customers.
