Reviews:

We come here for their dim sum and it's just as great as Dragon Boat, which I believe is from the same owner.
For those not in the know, this restaurant is among the top tier dim sum places in the GTA.  You WON'T be disappointed with the food here.
As is all good dim sum restaurants, expect line ups out the door if you come during peak hours.
The restaurant itself is high-end and immaculate. I heard they spend tens of thousands of dollars every month for frequent custodian activity.  This means that the washrooms will always be in top shape with no peepee below the urinals.
If you want top tier dim sum, definitely try The One.

I'm going to ignore the fact that I stood in front of the hostess, waiting to get acknowledged while looking around at the empty tables to get a seat for our group of 4. Other than that, a pretty amazing first visit to possibly the best dimsum restaurant I've ever had.
We visited on a Wednesday and arrived around 9:30am and to our surprise, there wasn't anyone waiting for a table and we were seated immediately.
Notable dishes: salted egg yolk bun, shrimp dumplings, tripe, milk tart and Macau style egg tart. I love majority of dimsum items but these were the ones that stood out.
This place is a must visit. Can't imagine what the weekends are like - I'll eventually have to see for myself.

Asian fusion done right.
Most places lose themselves in the "fusion", but this place gets it.
The menu is deep and super interesting.
The highlight was the bun with the yellow sweet filling and the egg tarts.
Even if you were just interested in dessert the egg tarts would be worth it. The BEST EGG TARTS ON EARTH.

The name is absolutely appropriate. If you are looking for the best dim sum, they are THE ONE. This place is now clearly number one on my list of the best dim sum restaurants in North America. And they beat some of the heavyweights such as Crown Prince and Casa Imperial in Toronto, as well as Kirin and Fisherman's Terrace in Vancouver by a good margin.
THE PROSPEROUS BIRD CAGE:  Have you ever ordered something so that you can take a picture of it? Let me be the first to admit that I have, and how can you not order this gorgeous bird cage which is their specialty dim sum platter. I was particularly impressed by the green pear-shaped deep fried sticky pork dumpling which had a very thin and slightly sweet green tea flavored shell that was stuffed with a delicious and moist minced pork filling.
Everything else on the platter was excellent and I am not going to describe all of them, otherwise, this review is going to be longer than Leo Tolstoy's War and Peace.
BLACK AND GOLD MOLTON YOLK BUN:  Have you ever ordered something so that you can take a picture of it? Yes, I did that twice on the same day. And I am so glad that I did. These buns were out of this World -- The filling was smooth, silky, and rich in egg yolk flavor. They also had the perfect balance of sweet and savory and they were delicious beyond belief.
TARO AND CHICKEN SPRING ROLL:  The skin was razor thin, perfectly crispy, and perfectly golden brown. As I sank my teeth into the spring roll, the skin crumbled and melted in my mouth. The taro filling was like a puree that was smooth in texture and punctuated by bits of minced chicken meat.
BEEF CONGEE WITH EGG:  This is without a doubt one of the best congees that I've ever had outside of Asia - so smooth that all the rice was "melted"; so smooth that you can't find a grain of rice in the congee. It was served piping hot with an egg already dropped in the congee. The beef flavor was rich and truly natural.
STEAMED RICE ROLL WITH FRIED DOUGH: The roll was made expertly with a literally paper-thin rice roll skin (please see picture) that wrapped around what is typically called a Chinese fried donut. It's a perfect companion of a bowl of congee.
TURNIP CAKE: These perfectly pan-fried slices of turnip cake were packed with strands of fresh and juicy turnips which gave a refreshing dimension to a heavenly dim sum lunch.
BEEF BALLS WITH CORN: It's a slight variation from the traditional version with green vegetables, but the fresh and sweet corn was a welcomed variation to tradition. The beef balls had a good texture, and without the taste of soda powder or artificial flavorings.
SIU MAI: You can't beat the value as they were huge and were packed with flavors. As good as they were, I still prefer the ones in Hong Kong that are a bit more refined.
HAR GOW: The presentation is hard to beat. Each dumpling was served in an individual small plate with some broth to keep the har gow moist (please see picture). Both the taste and presentation were great, but the skin was a tad too thick and too starchy.

Yum. This is a solid place for dim sum, and everyone else seems to know too- be prepared for a long wait time. I waited close to an hour and a half. If you have the patience and the time, it's worth it. Well, even if you don't, it's still worth it.
The dim sum is good. It's fresh and it's clean tasting. The service here is exceptional. Waiters don't go around with carts like your typical dim sum place- you order what you want and then it's cooked and brought out to you. I would also like to point out that you don't get cramped into a table with random strangers like most dim sum restaurants. I came as a party of 3 and we were seated in a table that could have been for 6 but they didn't seat anyone else with us.
Everything I tried was delicious. This is some quality dim sum. The wrapping on everything wasn't too chewy or doughy. The pork buns were really well made- warm and soft on the inside but crisp on the outside. Nothing was too starchy or oily. Even the vegetables were so green and fresh.
It's too bad I live in NYC and this place is in toronto. It would be my go to dim sum place otherwise.

I was excited to try this restaurant, knowing that it's a sister restaurant of Dragon Boat, we do have some expectations going in. But from our dinner, I would say it has exceeded my expectations. The One Fusion Cuisine is probably one of the best place, that's opened recently as well as I've been too. Everything about the restaurant was aesthetic, from the interior design, the decorations, their live stock aquarium and even to the food they served were plated beautifully.
Love the fact they offer unique and extensive menu options and not the same old Chinese menu, all the dishes are specifically curated for Chinese and it does work well for all ages. We ordered the Peking Duck and along with the sides, it came with marshmallows, grapes, cantaloupes, honeydew amongst the normal items. It was definitely the kids favourite. Prices are fair, some might be higher but the total came out to what our normal dinner would roughly be at a similar restaurant, give or take.
I hope they can continue to keep up with the quality in their food, service and innovative menu items so they can truly be 'The One'. This will probably be our go-to restaurant from now on. We will definitely be back to try other dishes and hopefully try their dim sum too.
Remember to make reservations!

Great dim sum at affordable prices in the morning if you go at 9:00 am (morning tea happy hour).  If you're looking for authentic dim sum with a twist, this is the place to be. I think the best thing to get here is the dumpling stuffed with soup.  The broth was very flavorful and the little chunks of seafood inside were delish. I will definitely be back when I come back into the area!!

I had the chance to grab an early dinner here on a Friday evening! Thankfully there was no wait time and we were seated right away. The restaurant looks newly renovated and will definitely be coming back here. The bbq and roasted pork is very very tasty and we got a 8lb lobster without regret! I would definitely recommend.
