Really delicious meals. My absolute favourite is their beef & gai lan, and their peach yum yum prawns. Definitely recommend those! Their other stuff on the menu is just as good as well, like the crispy garlic chicken. I also really like their homemade lemon iced tea, very refreshing and not too sweet.
Service is amazing, very friendly and quick. Definitely recommend this restaurant for Chinese cuisine!
Good Buddy has several locations around Edmonton all serve great Cantonese and Chinese cuisines. The Granville location is on the west side near WEM. During lunch hours it’s busy, they have small waiting area for both people waiting to dine in and for take out. We wait about 5 mins not too bad. We get the lunch special the beef with egg on rice. Very delicious and hot when serving. Very good portion I can easily feel full even without finishing it. The staff there is nice and patience feels like they are working there for long time. After meal they give us mango pudding for free it’s a plus. Lots parking available at the plaza.
Very busy dinner rush, very well-organized. Good food, great service. Big portion. Highly recommended place for dine-in or takeout.
It's become our new favorite for takeout orders. The sweet and sour pork is always tasty, and yesterday, we ordered ginger chicken as a change from our usual ginger beef. It was melt-in-your-mouth goodness. Good portions. We always pick up, so it's nice and hot when we eat it, and it's great to get 10% off for doing that, along with not paying service charges and tips.
Good quality and price,the staffs are patient and friendly，but should pay more attention to book an reservation before dine in especially from 5pm to 7pm in case of having a comfortable seat position.
The food like ginger beef, sweet and sour pork, special fried rice, crispy chicken are brilliant never taste that before.
It makes me reconsider of Chinese food.

Everything was great. The food was so good, I ate so much. Overall the restaurant has relaxing music and overall the atmosphere was great. The staff were fast and overall very kind and helpful. Easily rate it 5 stars, if I could I would give more.
Love the food here. It's definitely a tight squeeze space-wise, so don't expect a lot of elbow room if you're eating in.
Very great place but not much seating area. Went there for family birthday and chose a food set. For 2 tables. And the food came out pretty fast.

It is a fairly small place and is always busy, so reservation is super recommended. Great Cantonese style food and also western Chinese food. Service is much better than the one at Century Park.
We order for take out all the time, the dinner special for 4 is a great deal. and you can’t go wrong with the dim sum. We order 20 minutes ahead of time and it’s always ready when we arrive.
Crispy fried shrimp and pork and shrimp dumplings are the best!

I really like the portions of food. my favorite dishes are deep fried squid, bbq pork, egg yolk shrimps. Soy sauce fried noddle are so yummy. Three cups chicken tasted sweet, my kids loved it. We ordered The set dishes of 4. It was very good value. It was a lot of food. The ice lemonade was so refreshing when I ate the spicy beef. we definitely go back to eat more. They were so busy. During weekends and holiday, reservations are highly recommended. Free parking and Costco is just cross the street.

Such a good experience! Small dining area that fits a lot of people, amazing service and friendly staff who were always checking in even when the place was full, and delicious food that started arriving 2 minutes after we ordered and kept coming. Definitely recommend a reservation and will be back soon!

Excellent food. The chilli chicken, eggplant hotpot, fried green beans, shrimp dumplings, fried rice and spring rolls were all amazing. A bit spicy for those not used to hot spices. It was a pick-up order and piping hot when we picked up.

Tables too close especially at the front door.. can hardly move around. It is a fire hazard.

This place is very busy on weekends. We reserved a table for 8 people and we still needed to wait a bit when we got there. However, it’s all worth it. Food is amazingly tasty! Free dessert, friendly staff and clean place! My kids love their mango puddings so much. We will definitely come back soon.

All dishes taste NOT too savoury and oily. Very healthy. Crispy food are crunchy at the right point, crispy outside juicy inside.

We also tried SPICY CLAM-soo good!!! Yum yum pork chop the best too... The one that has green bell pepper with baby squid --little bit of sweetness sauce. Oyster large size around 6bucks per piece..
This is by far the best Chinese food I have ever eaten. The food was very fresh, vegetables perfectly cooked and still crisp. Entrees we’re spot on!!! Highly recommend this restaurant and will only order from here in the future. If you’re tired of eating terrible Chinese food from the other guys, make this your next stop and give it a try, you won’t regret it!!! Good Job Good Buddy!!!
If you're looking for authentic Chinese food or Hong Kong style cafe (none of that Western bastardized ginger beef or chicken ball stuff), this would be the only place I'd recommend in Edmonton. Edmonton is slowly building on its authentic taste in international food but still has a long way to go hence why this Good Buddy location is such a gem. Great value for quality of food and quantity. Would only recommend this location despite the franchise having other locations around the city (none of them compare to this).
Definitely a regular at this location to get my fix when I'm home sick.
A wonderful experience all in all. The staff are friendly and nice despite not being very fluent in English, the interior design has a very modern chic look to it, and the food is easily the best Chinese there is in Edmonton. If you decide to give this location a try, I highly recommend the XO sauce turnip cakes.

Its delicious, its well priced, its fast, im never disappointed. Had the kung pao chicken, beef brisket, pork and greens beans, congee, hot and sour soup, cane with generous portions of rice. Its a winner.
I went here for my Birthday Dinner!! It was excellent ??. The food was amazing and the staff was super efficient, your food comes out fast and your tummy is smiling! Recommend making a reservation for supper....as it is busy from 7-9pm.....

Gave this place another shot and they have REALLY gotten their act together with regards to COVID protocols.
They have put up plexi in a way that sets up little booths containing a single chair for people picking up orders.
Food was great too. I especially liked how the ginger beef wasn't completely drenched in sauce.l and therefore had a wee bit of crunch too it.
We were planning to order food to take home. The restaurant was packed.
The staff were friendly, they found a place for us to sit and offered us some tea while waiting.
The food did not take long to prepare.
As expected, it all tasted great.
I ordered here last day, its really surprise to see they are still open under the pandemic. Every staff is wearing a mask and there are even physical barriers between each table! It is really made feel safe and I definitely would come here again.
Best Chinese food in the city when you take into account the taste, quantity, and value for what you pay. Hands down. We're regulars here.
Took my father and two of my son's. My loved it and he is picky. Oldest son had noodles and beef youngest son had rice jasmine tea and wonton soup they Rave about the meal. I had war wonton abundance of wonton and broth was the best I've ever had.

The restaurant itself in it's physical seating is otherwise quite cramped but that doesn't stop it from being a great Chinese restaurant. Especially since it is literally at our doorstep. Beats driving 30min one way to get similar tasting food downtown. Sure, it's a couple $$ more per dish but the amount of time you save. How much is your time worth?
Took my mom there, first time for both of us...and we were absolutely blown away! The quality (and quantity) of the food, the service, the atmosphere (friendly, not pretentious) and the price were all surprisingly good. We will be coming back!
Finally, the well cooked Chinese food I have been craving. Had ginger beef, chicken fried rice, and Shanghai noodles. All three were probably the best I ever had. Mind blown.
Dinner for 4 was great value. More authentic Chinese food. Mainly Asian crowd is a great sign. Very small restaurant. Make a reservation if you don’t want to wait in line.

We loved the GOOD BUDDY Chinese restaurant, the food was AMAZING and there was plenty of it we ended up taking a good dishful home with us. It is the best chinese food we found since leaving Nova Scotia. I would definitely recommend this place to everyone. The staff was extremely friendly and attentive, a pleasure to interact with!! Awesome place!!!
Good quality food and lots of options. I found the pricing reasonable as well. We went during lunch and it was fast, I also ordered take out and it was pretty quick too. I like the chow mein
Some of the tastiest chinese food in the west end. They get busy so be prepared to wait.the food is always fresh and the servings are fair. The price is reasonable. I enjoy it.
Fantastic just fantastic. Peking duck is absolutely delicious. Lobster with cream sauce is rich and tasty. Iced tea is refreshing. Leftover kept well too LOL.

If you are passion about Chinese food, this would be the place to go, ask for the traditional noodle that they have, it brings back my childhood memories. The location is very easy to find, lots of parking, friendly people, clean.
Amazing food at a very, very reasonable price! A “hidden gem” in plain sight - not sure how I missed this place!! Will definitely be back!
