Reviews:

The fried dumplings were sooo good. They looked like little pillow cupcakes. The fillings were juicy and savory. The brisket noodle soup was satisfying. Xiao loong baos were pretty delectable. Juicy but not greasy. Service was prompt and the cute soup spoon was handy. A definite great find here. Jasmine tea is served w your own pot.

I was almost discouraged by the long line outside of Dumpling Home, but am so glad we stuck it out! We expected to wait a while, but the line moved impressively fast and we were seated before we even got the chance to put our names down on the waitlist - peak efficiency. The (dog friendly) outdoor seating didn't have much of an ambiance, but this place was more about the food anyway.
We decided to order a bunch of items to share between the three of us - the Spring Rolls, Shrimp Egg Chives and Wood Ear Mushroom Dumplings, Beef Xiao Long Bao, and Juicy Chicken Bao. Service was super fast, but I loved that the food didn't come out all at once to avoid the dumplings getting cold. All the dishes were fantastic but the Beef Xiao Long Bao were my favorite - steamy, flavorful, and delicious. We ended up getting another order of these with chicken. The Shrimp Egg Chives and Wood Ear Mushroom Dumplings were probably the most forgettable out of the bunch, but still tasty. I also got a Thai Iced Tea (which was delightful) but they did have beer and wine on the menu. The staff was incredibly adept at turning over tables, so the check came quickly and we didn't sit around for long. Overall, great experience - would happily return!

I've eaten from Dumpling Home twice now: once for delivery, and once for dine-in. The difference between the two experiences was significant. While the delivery was solid, it was very expensive (close to $100 to feed two people) and cold upon arrival, which had an impact on the enjoyability of the food, especially the green onion pancakes and xiao long bao.
Dining in, everything was SO fresh and hot. The juicy pork bao and numb and spicy pork xiao long bao were incredibly flavorful and my two favorites. My party of 2 arrived at 5:30pm on a Friday and waited approximately 15 minutes to get in after joining the waitlist. When we left and hour later there were a lot more people waiting by the entrance, so I definitely recommend dining early if you can!

Found my new fave xlb spot in the city! The flavors of the crab and pork xlb are consistently good. Super crabby, juicy, and the texture of the dumpling skin is chewy and thin-- perfection!
The shrimp and loofah xlb is also worth trying, so simple yet deliciously executed.
Another go-to of mine is the juicy pork bao. The texture of the skin is also chewy, but it also is able to keep all the juices inside without getting soggy. Love the sear/char on the bottom, as it adds to the textures.
My fave side dish here is the potato salad. Shreds of thinly sliced potato that's tossed in a numbing spice. Serves as a great palate cleanser in between bites.
the spicy sauce here is really good.

Really delicious authentic Chinese food here, which is evidenced by the long lines of Asian people and wait times. My table had the delicious pork soup dumplings, potstickers, pan fried soup dumplings and green onion pancakes. While everything was solid, the one dish I was strangely incredibly impressed by were the soup dumplings. Pork XLB are so easy to mess up somehow, and are often over steamed, but the soup dumplings here were perfect with great broth. Despite eating dumplings weekly, I hadn't had any truly good soup dumplings in a while so it hit the spot. The service here is decent and there's both indoor and outdoor seating. The surrounding area is full of restaurants and shops to walk around while waiting for tables so that's what my party did.
The only complaint I had about the experience was that we ordered jasmine tea and there was definitely a chrysanthemum tea flavor, to the point that we asked the waiter if the tea was wrong. She showed us that it was jasmine leaves but I have a suspicion that they did not clean the teapot completely. Jasmine and chrysanthemum tea are quite different in flavor and while I didn't mind, my sister is not a big fan. Otherwise the experience was lovely, and I'd definitely recommend to anyone looking for good Chinese food.

Dumpling Home serves one of the best soup dumplings in SF. After hearing so much hype about Dumpling Home and seeing the lines, I had to give it a try. I lined up about 15 minutes before they opened for dinner, and the line was half a block long. The service was quick and they were able to seat almost everyone in line.
We ordered their Pork Xiao Long Bao and their Juicy Pork Baos. The broth is definitely sweeter compared to other places I have tried, so definitely add the vinegar and chili oil to balance out the flavor. Besides that, it is an exceptional XLB! My favorite dish was definitely the Juicy Pork Baos. They had an extremely crispy bottom and was filled with soup and pork on the inside; the perfect balance of flavor and texture! Overall, I would definitely come back for just the Juicy Pork Bao alone.

I love Dumpling Home! The wait can be a bit killer at times (I came for a weeknight dinner once around 7 and the waitlist was already closed). It's worth the wait though, and it's nice to walk around the Hayes Valley shops while waiting for your table.
The Juicy Pork Bao are a must! Hot soup + flavorful filling + crunchy bottom + steamed top = the best combo of textures. Would come here just for those! Also recommend the XLB (pork is my favorite)! The Pork and Crab XLB are also good, but not as good a value as the pork in my opinion. Green beans are also tasty - fresh and nicely textured with a tasty sauce.
They're quick to take your order, but it can sometimes be hard to get someone's attention towards the end since the staff is running around a lot. The inside isn't too big, but they do have a good sized parklet that helps get people in and out quickly!

Biting into the juicy pork bun can cause some serious explosive goodness, so beware!!! It is one of the best bites I have ever eaten.
I would eat outside, with people passing by and under cover on the patio. Service was great out there.
The best of what we ate was the pork bun, so crunchy below and soft above and with perfect soupy broth within...flavor city!
The other dumplings were solid, and the Dan Dan noodles sublime!
Nothing is spicy, and if I have a criticism(I mean, aside from price price price) it is that the flavors were a bit too understated--everything needed chili oil.

The dumplings here are SO GOOD! Our favorite xlb is the numbing spicy ones - very unique and the soup inside is delicious. Xlb's come in orders of 4 or 8. They have this special spoons to make sure you don't spill the soupy goodness! And pan fried pork buns are some of the best we've had in the sf Bay Area - crispy bottoms and fluffy bun. There is soup inside of those too! We've also gotten green beans and Dan Dan noodles - also really tasty. The green beans are cooked perfectly with delicious garlic sauce. The portions are good for 2 so order more if you're extra hungry or have more people!
There is always a wait during dinner time but they use Yelp waitlist so you can clearly see where you are in line and walk around Hayes valley in the meantime. They have both indoor and outdoor seating (with heaters).

This was our second time returning here. It is always busy, and there will always be a wait, at least 20 min-1hr. We keep coming back for their XLB and juicy pork baos. Really good and flavorful- some of the best you'll get in the city.
Brussel sprouts were mid- not much of a truffle flavor
All the XLBs were very tasty
Juicy pork bao- must get! Caution: they are very hot
Chicken wings were very good as well

We got here right when the restaurant opened and was shocked that there was already a crazy line that's about half the block from the entrance of the restaurant! We immediately looked around for street parking and hustled to the line. Then we found out that the line was just to put our name on the waitlist. We then waited 50mins before we got seated. Luckily there were a couple coffee shops around the area so we went for a walk to kill some time. Luckily they allowed us to bring our coffee into the restaurant.
We ordered the numb&spicy XLB, noodles, and juicy pork buns. Everything was really good and I now understand why the line was so crazy. I would honestly wait here again when I come back next time. You know it's legit when there's still a couple old Asian grandma and grandpas in the line despite the long line.

Sooooooo good. Holy crap -- and so much soup. I had been wanting to try Dumpling Home for forever since many of my friends have been raving about how amazing the dumps are, and they definitely lived up to the hype.
I went on a Tuesday at 5pm and it was pretty busy already, but we were able to walk in and get sat. However, shortly after though I think past 5:30pm it seems like lines begin to form for this To be fair, I'd also wait to eat at this casual eatery.
We ordered the cucumber salad, juicy pork bao, dan dan noodles, pork XLB, and numb and spicy XLB. Everything came out very quickly.
Cucumber salad was really fresh, but really the stars of my meal were the sheng jian bao, XLBs, and dan dan noodles. I was really stunned by how much soup was in the sheng jian bao. Like an incredible amount. I feel like most places skimp on the soup, but the pan fried baos are amazing. XLB were very bulbous, really thin skins and filled with soup. Really good. I also thought the numb and spicy XLB was really unique as I'd never seen it on any other menu before. Finally, wow the dan dan noodles were epic. I loved the sauce and how soft and doughy the noodles were.
Everything was amazing, I can't wait to come back.
