This place is amazing! Absolutely worth the trip if you don't live in the area. Food was delicious, service was phenomenal, and the atmosphere was so cozy!
Best waitress and best Chinese in Rittenhouse!
Awesome dim sum, reasonable prices, friendly wait staff.
Phenomenal food and exceptional service at a reasonable price point.
Heng Feng is serving quite possibly the best dim sum in the city right now. The crab pork soup dumplings were some of the best I've ever had ¡ª juicy, flavorful, and with a wrapping that was juuuust thick enough to securely contain all of the delicious soupy filling. The crystal shrimp dumplings were surprisingly unique ¡ª there is a subtle sesame flavor to the wrap that I've never experienced with this dish, they also use whole shrimp for the filling. The garlic cucumber salad was everything I wanted it to be, and went so quickly that I forgot to get a picture of it. Oops!
After demolishing our dim sum spread we followed it up with the Shrimp Ho Fun, a perfectly prepared and incredibly well balanced thick noodle dish ¡ª delicious, no notes!
The only thing we had that wasn't super memorable from a flavor/texture standpoint was our dessert, the sweet custard buns. They weren't bad, just not the best I've had. That said they were 100% the most ADORABLE custard buns I've ever had!
Mentioned at the top but it bears repeating, the level of service was exceptional. Fine dining level, in fact. Given how great our overall experience was here it was shocking that this place wasn't more crowded on a Friday night at peak dinner hours. They must not have had a chance to grow a neighborhood following yet since it's fairly newly opened. Highly recommend getting in while it's still easy to grab a table!!!
Delicious food served with friendly care. We had the orange beef and house fried rice with tea. You could see the fresh tea leaves in the pot. Sooooo good!
Having to enjoyed places like Yank Sing in San Francisco, Din Tai Fung in Los Angeles, Lunasia in Pasadena, Boston Seafood in San Gabriel, and many more, this place is among the top and the best value.
Pork Soup Dumplings at $6 and Crystal Shrimp Dumplings at $7.50 is a crazy deal for such quality and taste.
We paid $165 per person ($500 total) on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday for a set menu which provided 8 dishes. Vs. Heng Feng paid only $46 for two people enjoying five dishes. I must say, I had a 10x better experience at Heng Feng than 10x more pricier fancy place.
Even the owner was so nice and cool.
Will come back again for sure.
Picked up an order to go. Was great.
Had the general Tso chicken and lo mein combo platter.
Both were good.
I've been coming here for the past 6+ years. They have THE BEST MONGOLIAN BEEF! It's always the same gentleman who takes my order, I believe he is an owner! Very down to earth and welcoming!
Highly recommend it!
Great food! A step above the run-of-the-mill American style Chinese spots.
highly recommend this place if you want a good and cozy place to eat. the food is good, the price is good, and the waiter was a super friendly guy!
One of the most authentic and delicious Chinese food spots I have been to in a while. Very traditional dishes that are affordable and done to perfection. None of that fusion stuff. Staff is friendly and service is great - even through late hours of the night. This place does not get enough recognition!
Heng Feng is an amazing local spot! The staff are super friendly and always helpful. I love their dim sum and small plates but their entrees are also delicious! I def recommend the Dan Dan (pork) crispy tofu, crystal shrimp dumplings , grandmother dumplings, and Ho Fun noodles. So good, forgot to take pics.
The food was great, perfect temperature and amount for my group. I am not from this area so I went in on a whim and was surprised by how good the food was and how much I enjoyed eating there.
The server was friendly and attentive.
I will say the best item in my opinion was the Pork Shu Mai. It was top notch.
This was the number one spot in the area on yelp and I popped in. Very tasty meal with extremely quick service. The restaurant was also clean and comfortable. Cool upstairs as well.
I love this place and it's super close to me. Love the Singapore noodles, general tso's, lo mein, egg rolls, and fried rice!!
The kung pao chicken and wonton soup are so good. I usually have to save half for the next day but I gobbled all of this down in one sitting. I feel disgusting but I'll do it again for sure.
If I lived in Philly, I would come here all the time. Such a hidden gem in a fantastic location. The food is authentic, the prices great and the service is great. Like most authentic Chinese places the ambiance isn't fantastic but I'd prefer great food and reasonable prices than good decor.
Cute little restaurant in the middle of Rittenhouse. Service was great as our waiter kept checking up on us. Food was great and really hit the spot on a rainy Philly day.
Amazing! Food and service!! Everything about our dinner was fantastic :) if you are looking for an authentic chinese/asian flavour, and a peaceful night out you should come!
Food came out hot and fresh! Veggie dumplings are really good, as well as the custard buns.
Staff was extremely nice! Fried rice was delicious as well as the soup and shrimp dumplings. Smaller menu for dim sum but had what I was craving. Prices are excellent.
Soooo happy to discover this amazing place. Having enjoyed places like Yank Sing in San Francisco, Din Tai Fung in Los Angeles, Lunasia in Pasadena, Boston Seafood in San Gabriel, and many more, this place is among the top and the best value.

My friend and I had a great time. Steven's spirit shined bright. He was so warm and welcoming (which is, unfortunately, atypical these days). Our food was delicious, the favorite being shrimp dumpling soup (I think). It got eaten so fast I forgot to take a photo. The price was very fair. We got a bunch of different dishes, and it came to $70. Please come in!
Got there first thing when they opened. Staff was incredibly friendly, we had probably the best beef filled pancakes I've tasted 10/10 would eat again (savoury, crispy, just the tiniest hint of spice), and overall found an awesome restaurant.
The decorations are traditional Chinese pleated skirts of some kind, the embroidery on them is stunning. We will be returning in the future.
If you like hot food that's full of flavor this is the spot for you.
Took my wife & daughter there while in town for her graduation from UPenn & the food was amazing! The owner Steven served us with a big smile & made our experience even more special. Highly recommend if you are looking for great service, great food & great experience!!
Very tasty dim sum. Attentive and friendly service. Really enjoyed our dinner here on a recent stay in Philadelphia. Walking distance from multiple hotels in the Rittenhouse Square area.
My colleague and I were in the Philadelphia for a business trip. We found this restaurant via YELP search and decided to give it try. The atmosphere was quaint, clean, and inviting. Our server/owner was friendly and welcoming and the food was delicious!! Definitely try this eatery out if you're in the area. It was one of best meal we had during our entire week's stay!!
Super friendly. Great selection. Reasonable prices. Great atmosphere to eat in, or pick up takeout for dinner on the couch. The gentleman even served me some jasmine tea while I waited for my takeout order.
