Reviews:

Can I just say "ohhhh mama" this was soooooooo good! My significant other and I got the fish in chili sauce, the fish was so soft and juicy, with just enough kick! We also got the honey walnut shrimp, which had a creamy and slightly sweet sauce!!! And of course we couldn't come without trying the yummy soup dumpling, it was so good I couldn't wait and burned my lip!!
The restaurant was clean, peaceful, and had a wonderful staff! We will DEFINITELY be returning!

Service: service is good. Our waitress was very attentive. Even though it took longer than usual for them to bring our food while there were only four tables of guests at the restaurant.
Food: excellent! Love the food. Even though it is a bit price compared to other restaurants, but it tastes so good. I love all the dishes we ordered. Will definitely come back next time when we are in town.

Finding good chinese food in las vegas has proved challenging over the years even while in china town . However a fellow foodie friend posted pics china mama and they looked so tempting that within me a craving arose.  I feel I consumed some of the best chinese food I have had in a very long time.
So first off by now many people have heard of soup dumplings, well their gyoza also is a variation of  it and so are their steamed buns .  I actually like the gyoza the most since its seemed to hold the most soupy goodness.  I wish they had smaller portion options or like a mixed platter of all of them.  We had far to many of basically the same thing with a different wrapper.
Their orange chicken was crazy good! I love that they had orange zest juliened throughout.  There were a couple random dry peices, but overall theu were tender and battered nicely.  Not like some places where its all batter and no meat.   Also the crispy beef was so satisfying and addictive.  By now you see all our food choices were laden with carbs and fried things.  Last night the goal was sheer gluttony, and we checked guilt at the door.
I love that they serve tea with the meal.  It tasted like jasmine which is one of my favorites.  I can't wait to try all their other tempting food items. Just be prepared for one of the most packed parking lots in china town, we gave up and finally parked a
block down and walked to the restaurant.

Normally, I shy away from spots that Vegas Instagram foodies flock to. But the big mouth rolls on shaobing looked too good to resist. After a marathon haul at the International Marketplace, we stopped in for an early dinner. The place was mostly empty but clean and spotless. I love that you can watch your food being cooked!
There is ice water and hot jasmine green tea waiting at the table, which is a nice touch. Grandma and I split the big mouth rolls, Mama's special chow mein, and the sesame chicken with a side of white rice. Everything was delicious. I'm not a big fan of cilantro, but it definitely works in the big mouth rolls! The Mama's special chow mein came with four or five big shrimp, plus big chunks of chicken and beef. The noodles were tasty as well - not too oily or salty. The sesame chicken was delicious and plentiful. It had a nice balance between toasty, sweet, and salty.
If it weren't so far away, it would probably be a weekly dinner spot. The service is top-notch, as is the food. Plus, there are all sorts of cool shops and boba spots nearby to check out. I suggest fueling up here and then trekking through International Marketplace afterward!

I'm in the Chinatown area often but there are so many restaurants constantly opening that a place has to be really good for me to go regularly. China Mama is one of the few, and I've both dined in and ordered takeout since they've changed the menu and ownership. Parking can be difficult to find in the evening.
My favorite things here are their appetizers. I highly recommend going with a group to share several dishes, including Mama's special pan-fried pork buns (which actually also come with egg), the spicy wontons, the soup dumplings, and the big mouth pork roll. The sliced fish in chili oil, mapo tofu, and sizzling soup are good entrees to share, portioned family-style. I haven't tried their rice or noodle dishes yet but the dan dan, cumin lamb, and crispy duck are next on my list.

Food: FINALLY a REALLY great Chinese restaurant in the LV area for locals! This is our new favorite place for Shanghainese food (still like KJ Kitchen for Cantonese).
Sheng jin bao (pan fried bread) - a specialty. Perfectly crunchy on the bottom, soft on the top and juicy pork inside. Takes me back to the street food in Shanghai. Happy day!
XLB - juicy, tasty soup dumplings! I just wished they served the ginger with vinegar with it.
Nian gao (flat oval sticky rice noodle with pork)- this was the best I've ever tasted. The vegetables were super fresh (green onion, red bell pepper, shiitake mushrooms) and the ratio of noodles to other ingredients was on point.
Huang gua (cold cucumbers in garlic sauce) - perfectly seasoned with the right amount of salt and garlic, a generous portion.
3 cups chicken with basil in clay pot - I love me some fresh basil! They do this nicely without the bones so it saves a workout for your jaw. Just a hint of spicy.
Niu Rou mien - I didn't try this. My husband says it was just ok.
The hot jasmine tea was really good and I was impressed with that attention to detail because lots of other places just give you some gross quality "tea" as an afterthought, while this jasmine is wonderfully fragrant and tasty.
Ambiance: the building from the outside looks ghetto, but the inside is clean and traditional with instrumental Chinese music playing (sometimes a bit too loudly). I appreciate the attention to detail with beautiful matching plates and tea cups. There is a big glass window and you can see them making the buns and dumplings.
Service: probably the BEST service we've ever received in a Chinese local joint. The waitress was very friendly and smiling and spoke both Mandarin and English and helped by suggesting the nian gao.
Price: it is a bit pricier then other places, but we felt the very fresh ingredients, perfect seasoning and service and ambiance was worth it.
My Taiwanese born husband could not stop talking about how happy he was we found this place. We found it through his dad who was visiting from L.A. and picked up a Chinese newspaper and saw the advertisement for this place.
This is definitely on our regular rotation!

Came here again recently, and I really enjoyed the food once again!
The mapo tofu was some of the best I've ever had! They even have it lit so it stays hot the entire time. Can't beat that presentation!
The pan fried pork buns were amazing! Loved the textures. The bread was super fresh and soft, and the pork was really juicy.
The fish fillet in hot chili oil was really tasty, and the portions were humongous.
Service has been excellent these past two times, even though they were really busy!
This place will be my go-to Chinese restaurant for awhile.

Save room for their freshly baked egg tarts!!!
Been here twice in one week bc I was craving for their egg tarts. All their savory dishes were also very good.
-Black pepper beef on the sizzling plate: good sauce, and the beef was very tender. Definitely a repeat order.
-Dan dan noodle: good amount of spice, loved the texture of the noodles.
-XLB: they had a good amount of juice in it.
-Pan fried pork buns: not really what we were expecting. Buns were big, and wrapper was way too thick. Unfortunately not a repeat order.
-Egg tarts: best egg tarts I've ever had! Try them and thank me later.
4.5/5 stars

This was an Unofficial Yelp Invitational Dinner. They had a certain amount spots open for those who wanted to attend
If you are looking for a true authentic experience I would recommend coming to this establishment.
The staff was truly hospitable and accommodating. They answered all questions and took their time explaining the new and improved menu. We even got the chance to meet the owner. The restaurant has been under a major remodel for the past 3-4 months. They brought in a new chef with an authentic culinary background. Many of the dishes they prepare were actually hand picked by the owner herself.
The restaurant has an open kitchen. This whole concept allows you to fully watch the chef and his staff create the meals. The kitchen was clean along with the dining area.
We tried many items tonight,  Spicy Dry Chicken to the Egg Tart. I don't normally eat fish, but the soup was phenomenal.
Location is very convenient Spring Mtn/ Jones, plus ample parking. For the food that you are going to eat, the prices are a reflection of good quality.

China Mama is authentic Chinese restaurant with good quality food that's perfect for families (portion size wise).
Most people who read my reviews know that I always rate service. I've been a waiter in my college years so I don't accept any excuses when it comes to service. Service is what makes a visit an experience. China Mama's service was fantastic. Two ladies who were serving us were attentive (but not overbearing), fast, and efficient. Both of them had a genuine smile on their faces every time they interacted with us which felt super nice.
Food was great too. We're not very familiar with authentic Chinese food so we ordered what looked good on Yelp lol. Photos with descriptions attached.
Sliced fish in chili sauce - pretty thick sauce, flavorful and has a spicy kick to it. We saw pics on yelp w/o any description and thought it was a soup, it's not lol. Also - the portion was gigantic and could feed 4 people in my opinion. Keep it mind because pictures definitely don't do it justice.
Traditional Chinese pancake w/scallion - we know this dish from the magic noodle. We love it! We always dip it in our soups or sauces we order and it's fantastic!
Mama's Special Pork buns - they were delicious! The one thing that we did to make the dish even more delicious and of course to basterdize it, was add some fish sauce broth inside the bun. It was bomb! Entire staff was eyeing us as we were eating our pork buns lol I'm sure any good broth would work thou :)
Forgot to mention, they also serve delicious green tea. It's perfect to just enjoy it or cleanse your palate.
That's it :) great place, great food, great service, we totally recommend it!

It's just so good! The service is so nice and friendly! They're very attentive. The food is delicious and comes out piping hot fresh from the kitchen! The flavors are perfect. This is my second time coming here and it has been consistent with my first visit. I recommend trying the mapo tofu and the pork buns!

Our group of 10 persons when to China Mama tonight and had the most wonderful experience there.
We ordered many dishes  , they are: Mama Special Tofu Fish soup, tasty pieces of deboned fish and soft tofu, in a soup, Soup Dumplings, delicious pork fillings with tasty soup wrapped in a thin pasta and steamed in bamboo baskets, crispy green beans , sautéed eggplant , Wok-Fried organic Chinese cauliflower with Salted pork, so delicious! Beef rolls wrapped with thin dough, Mama special pan fried pork bun, their specialty, cucumber shrimp dumplings, and a few more......everything was so delicious !
The service was very good too, we have our tea pots filled often and new dishes changed 3 times in the course of our meal.
The owner, Victor came to our table and make sure we have everything we needed, what a service!
We highly recommend this restaurant and will definitely return again.

This place is my go to spot for Chinese. I always get this place post mated to me. They do so many dishes right! The fact that they have beef rolls, makes this a five star!!
Let's see what's good here!
We ordered:
Crispy Beef - Amazing! This is one of their signature dishes. You won't be disappointed.
Sesame Chicken - probably the best sesame chicken in town. The sauce is amazing and the chicken is always good quality.
Orange Chicken - Good
Beef and Broccoli  - actually pretty good!
Beef Rolls - Bomb! Fire!! The best! Order these!!
Big Mouth Roll - Surprisingly really good!
Duck - it was ok. I'm not a fan of ordering takeout Duck. It's just never the same
Fried rice - ok, not the best
Mongolian Beef - really good
Triple Chicken Dish - Really good!
Overall this place just does so many dishes right. So good! Definitely give this place a try!

We were in Vegas for the weekend and saw the pictures at this place. The pictures did not disappoint! We came as a party of four and got the pan fried pork buns, xiao long Bao, Mapo tofu, Chinese broccoli in oyster sauce, Taiwanese beef noodle soup, and fried prawns.
Everything was delicious, especially the beef noodle soup. The beef was very tender and the soup tasted right - not too much spice and not too much soy sauce. The crispy prawns were basically honey walnut shrimp but on steroids. Chinese broccoli was shaved at the stems so it wasn't fibrous - and the sauce paired very well with it! The Sichuan dishes weren't too sichaun (they were Cantonese hybrids with more cornstarch) but the flavors were still solid. I highly recommend getting anything Cantonese here, they know what they are doing!
The prices were fair for the quality and taste of the food. Service was great for Chinese restaurants and the waitress was very helpful. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for some good Cantonese food.

We loved this place! Saw some photos and comments on Instagram about China Mama, and we  had to come try it. We ordered the brown fried rice, soup dumplings and Mama's Special dumplings. All was delicious!! The service was really good too. Will come back again next time we are in Vegas.

This is a new Chinese eatery on Jones and Sprint mountain -- far superior to the super-hyped Chinatown eateries - which are just eating halls. This spot offers good food, cool ambience and friendly service.
In my view, the food here is seriously delicious and the helpings are massive They say its family size, they mean for really big families. Chefs here are clearly culinary educated , it is pretty clear when you take your first bite. Food is very well prepared with attention to detail. We ordered Spicy pepper chicken, Fish in Chilli oil - this was by far the best we have had, Chicken chow mien and two soups.
Very good experience, We will be back soon
Visit this spot before it gets busy and wait times are over 1 hour, no doubt it will rock

Hang out with friend during the dinner time. We have been recommended by another friend about China Mama's pastry, and we glad that we decide having dinner here. The steamed juicy pork bun is the best in town!!! Strong recommended!!! We also order the fish fillet in hot chili sauce, it was so good when you eat it with rice. We order the handmade red bean pancake as dessert, taste excellent!

I almost want to keep this place all to myself ! Egg tarts are a must-try here. It's a 15 minute wait, but definitely worth it. The staff and owner are all very friendly. I saw this place featured in Las Vegas Weekly last Thursday, and since then I've been back here...*ahem*...4 times (Today is Tuesday).
Also try the xiao long bao, honey walnut shrimp, and house chow mein.

Not really a hidden gem, since it is a standalone building on Jones, but the outside doesn't really do the place justice. If you just look at the outside you might think it is a standard, somewhat run-down Chinese place, but the inside seems to have been freshly redone and is very comfortable. Also, they have an open kitchen, yay!
Of course, decor doesn't do much if the food isn't good. Luckily I can attest to the food being quite good. The soup dumplings I had were on par with the best of soup dumplings I had in other restaurants in other cities; they taste fresh and are nice and juicy. At around $13 they are reasonably priced.
This is definitely a place that I'll be back to again.

Craving chinese food after a recent trip to Shanghai. This place did not disappoint!! Was pleasantly surprised with the new modern asian contemporary decor and found out from our very pleasant , efficient bilingual server CiCi that the restaurant had recently gone under new management. Food is authentic chinese. Spice level is just right about a medium. Seafood tasted fresh and everything was served hot and fresh.
Wont hesitate to give this place a 5 stars and will be returning here to try other items on the menu.

This restaurant is the best one I have tried in Las Vegas. Their services are really great. Their free tea is really nice. I also like their plates and bowls. I really recommend this place, if you want to try northern Chinese food, like beef roll and buns.

This place is great, amazing food and ambiance.  Very traditional and tasty if you like Chinese food you will love this place

What a chinese food Experience!  Got some fried rice and the fish soup with mustard.... , the soup is giant $22 but for 6 people at least. The Sichuan pepper and the sweet and sour cut the spice and and keep the flavor. Pure cooking genius ! The fried rice arrive to the table and was so white, i tought they made a mistake. But as soon as I ate it it was pure magic, just perfectly fried. The entire flavor of the food was exceptional and it was like being in the Chinese movie " cook up the storm " . With District one, ODE tapas and China mama, this center is becoming a reference for great place to eat in Las Vegas.

The restaurant is very nice inside, there are big round tables for family gathers. Food was excellent. We had crispy pork and organic cauliflower which came out steaming hot. The highlight was steam juicy pork bun which were actually very soupy inside! I have been looking for a place w good xiao long bao in Vegas and this place is it! Plus our server Amy was very nice and patient. Will be back

Open kitchen concept. I liked seeing the kitchen staff work their magic and create authentic chinese food. Their menu is new, and the restaurant has been remodeled. I loved the soup dumpling before and thankfully they are still in the menu and just as good.
The food is very flavorful and varied from mild to more spicy dishes. The staff explained their dishes and shared with us what the House specials were. Indeed those were not to be missed. The best house special was The sliced fish fillet with pickled mustard soup. It was spicy and sour at the same time. The fish fillet melted in my mouth. We enjoyed  rice noodles and along with the mustard leaves and cabbage. This soup could be a stand alone meal. Massive portion size and very hearty.
The crispy pork with mama's special sauce is sweet with a tad of spice.
Everything we tried had a unique flavor and the meal and ambiance was fantastic.

Great dinning experience! I am really impressed by their elegant design when I first stepped in China Mama. Open see through kitchen which is a big plus for the restaurant. You can feel how confident they are about their food quality and cleanliness. Also the food is fantastic. We ordered Fish filet with pickled mustard, Crispy pork with Mama's special sauce, Wok-Fried pork intestines, Chinese brocolli with oyster sauce, Dried pepper chicken. I loved them all. Especially the Dried pepper chicken and Fish filet with pickled mustard. I have to say it's the best I have ever tried. And the servers are very attentive and friendly. I will definitely come back and try their other dish soon.

Omggggg. So I would consider myself a self proclaimed foodie lol. I cam to Vegas in search of more delicious foods and to revisit others. This restaurant by far was out favorite. We had the Big mouth roll, the Tan Tan noodles, Xiao Long Bao (soup dumplings), Crispy Pork with chef special sauce, red bean buns, and Mama's  special pan fried pork buns. EVERYTHING was so tasty and flavorful.  And the Xiao Long Bao was the best I've had anywhere. The Tan Tan noodles were hands down the table favorite.
I can not wait to return to Las Vegas for more

Brought my family to China mama, heard it's under a new management. It's bright and clean inside, we ordered several dishes. I love the Chinese cauliflower in a iron pot. They did the vegetarian style for us, pretty testy! There's one dish called sizzling rice in seafood soup, that's  a must try soup for us. My husband love the pickled fish.
Actually all the entree are good.
Definitely will come back!
