Reviews:

For Chinese New Year I didn't have time to dedicate to shopping for the good luck Chinese New Year Feast especially during a pandemic.

I scheduled an order for dinner  delivery on Uber Eats which actually went smooth.  Order arrived ahead of time, food was very hot and fresh. Portions were huge especially it was just for two people.

I ordered the Fish Fillet with white sauce, snow pea leaf with garlic and lionhead Meatballs. All three dishes were authentic and very good. All three dishes came with rice.

It's good to know that this restaurant exists in the Long Island area, one day I'll venture to explore the restaurant's specialties.

I was interested in this place when I passed a bank to get money and decided to try it. It looks much bigger on the inside than outside. Our host warned us before seating us that the heater is broken but she would sit us next to an electric heater and provided us with hot tea which was great. I ordered the chicken with mixed veggies lunch special which comes with a choice of rice and soup. I chose fried rice and sweet & sour soup. Everything tasted delicious and the staff was very friendly. After we paid they gave us fortune cookies and chocolate gold coins. I will be coming back again in the future to sit down or order takeout.

It has been so hard to find a good sit down Chinese restaurant that feels authentic and has delicious food, but I think I may have just found my new go-to! During COVID, I can happily say that this restaurant is taking very necessary safety precautions and makes me feel comfortable eating indoors. The tables are very spaced out and each table has its own sanitizer readily available. We ordered the best Mongolian Beef, String Beans with Minced Pork, Scallion Pancakes, Salt & Pepper Squid, Pork Soup Dumplings, and Pork Belly Bao Buns (not pictured). The food is well seasoned and the portions are very good... needless to say we had leftovers for lunch the next day. I have already recommended this to my friends and family. If you are looking for a new Chinese food spot, look no further; it will not disappoint.

Authentic Szechuan!
double fry pork is magical, dry chilli chicken, dan dan noodle, and many more to try
Will be back for sure! amazing value for such delightful dishes.

Thanks to Bill's review on Yelp, I tried some of the lunch specials today.  A soup and rice included in the lunch specials for $8-$9.  An excellent opportunity to try a few more dishes Cheng Du has to offer.  It is such a good deal.  There seems to be a dearth of good Chinese food in Long Island-- Cheng Du should open up in Rockville Centre or Baldwin.  I highly enjoyed everything in my order: string beans with minced pork, ma Poa tofu, sesame chicken, orange chicken, all with a soup and rice on the side (they use the two compartment containers).

The best Chinese food In Nassau county!  Love the orange chicken, string beans with minced pork, Dan Dan noodles, ma Poa tofu.  So authentic and delicious!  They have soup dumplings too!

The dry pot was the best thing we got, it was so flavorful and a perfect amount of spice. Mongolian beef was good too. The honey walnut shrimp was pretty good too, but not sure if I would personally get it again. They add pineapple to it and it tastes really good w the shrimp and walnuts. Will definitely be ordering from here again!!

We love this place!!! Our families #1 choice is the braised beef noodle soup omg soooooooooo tasty !!!! The soup comes in one container and the the noodles on the side , today we also orders house special fried rice ,chicken and broccoli, garlic pork belly  and ,boneless spare ribs  we ordered the duck last time and it was just ok but overall the food here is top notch !

Amazing food coupled with impeccable hospitality. The dry pot shrimp combined with Dan Dan noodles our favorite.

My husband and I got the Valentine's Day pre-fix for takeout! It was so delicious and so pleasurable. All the flavors and textures. Just perfection. Thank you, Cheng Du!

Very family friendly. Excellent service. Standouts are the soup dumplings, sautéed pea shoots and stir fried dishes are excellent in general. Fairly priced.

Wow, an unexpected Sichuan gem out on Long Island - what a delight! I was lucky enough to have a family member take me here, as I am not usually in the area and probably wouldn't normally make this long of a journey without knowing a meal was going to be excellent. I was really delighted by the food and service here; some of the Sichuan restaurants that I frequent in NYC aren't exactly the friendliest, but I get over it because the food is so bomb. At Cheng Du, however, the owners and staff are so kind and seem to be very thoughtful about their clientele. On top of that, this is some really superb Sichuan!

We had definitely too much food for two people but this allowed me to try lots of different sorts of preparations and understand their flavor profiles a little better.

--The hot chili wontons are perfect, and I'm not usually someone who loves wontons because I often find them too bland, or the skins too thick, or the filling overcooked. However, these are perfectly silky and tender, with an excellent balance in the spice and slickness of the sauce.

--Cucumber salad is something I often order as a benchmark at Sichuan restaurants, and this one had a slight sweetness along with the ma la that made this pretty addictive; I couldn't stop eating these!

--Dan dan noodles are also excellent, with good chew and a very nicely balanced sauce coating. These were not outstanding, but still very good and worth ordering.

--Braised fish and cabbage: I like this dish because of the fiery slick of chili oil that coats each bite and is somehow masochistically delicious. Highly recommend this dish; it's v v good.

There were a few other things we had, but I'd say the above were the most memorable dishes, and their spice profiles are quite nuanced and sophisticated. Portions are also huge, and I really trust this restaurant because they have a section of the menu called "Americanized Chinese Food" for people who have no taste (lol maybe I'm only half kidding). The space is pretty big and we didn't have to wait at all for a table, AND they have fishtanks, which makes me super nostalgic for the Chinatowns of my childhood.

Come here if you're anywhere near the area! Bring a big group! They have a full bar!
