holy mala!! i almost die here because of the spice. tbh i haven't had spice this hot for soo long and this place satisfies my wish in everyway.
small restaurant with limited parking plaza. i was lucky there was no wait time when i got there, but def there will be waiting list during peak hours.
the ambience feels like typical shabu restaurant where you select your choice of veg, meat, etc at the bar. then there are two options: the soup, or dry pot. i am a big fan of dry noodle and i was super excited because i never had mala dry noodle before. don't forget to add noodle in your bowl, else they will cook whatever you have.
overall, the food was beyond expectations. can't go wrong with soup or dry options, both are unique in taste. highly recommend if you're looking for affordable, authentic mala.
warning!: go easy on the spice unless you know what you're doing lol

This is my favorite malatang restaurant in LA! I've heard so much hype about malatang and when I finally found this place, I was so happy. And I was definitely not disappointed.
You can choose what to put in your soup from the self serve bar and I love how I can choose the portion of each ingredients. And the price is all by weight!
The place has dry or hot pot options and you can also choose the spice options. I always go for the mild but still think it's spicy!
10/10. I've already went back 6 times and will still continue to go back!

The service is so nice and the bar has good options. We showed up pretty late like 1am and all the bins were still well kept/ had food in them.
The service was quick, the portions large and affordable ( one pound (minimum) for 17ish dollars). The food was super flavorful, cooked perfectly , and came out hot! The rice was warm and not dry even though it was late.

This place is easily a 5/5 each time and a must-visit remember I am in the LA area!
Food is charged by the weight of your ingredients and you have to get at least 1 lbs. You are able to choose between dry pot (which I always get) or hot pot. You are also able to choose your spice level (I always get mild).
I love this place, because you're able to get your meat, veggies, and noodles all in one place, and there's plenty of options if you don't eat meat as well.
The food is also very fairly priced. It is also in a prime location if you'd like to grab a dessert or boba afterwards.
Cannot recommend to enough people!

Yum this spot is always consistently delicious. Amazing dry pot and a great selection of options. I've only ever ordered take out so I can't speak to the ambience or service but I'd love to visit in person eventually.

Love their hot/dry pot here. So happy they have the tofu skin I like. Their extra spicy is actually very spicy! You pay by weight of whatever food items you choose.

I have tried to gatekeep this place for over a year now. As you can see, with their second location opening up, I was unsuccessful.
The *best* dry pot I have ever had. Whoever is in charge of whatever addictive concoction they've created in the kitchen, is my lord and savior. If you like spice, garlic, flavor... this place is the best!

This place was so good! It's a hot pot place where you grab your own ingredients in the self-serve bar and they cook it for you in the back. You can choose either hot pot with soup or dry pot. I chose dry pot and it was super tasty and flavorful. This place is good for people who love spicy as it can get pretty spicy even with mild. But it is still doable.
This place is charged by pound so make sure you get at least 1 pound to make your moneys worth. If you get less than a pound you'll still get charged with the price of 1 pound.
I discovered this place through a vegan friend so you know that this place is vegan friendly as well!

I basically try every Hot Pot place I come by in LA and this one is by far my favorite. I don't know much about different broth types but WOW this broth is so fricken good! I love Mild and Medium. The broth has a great spice to it and a subtle delicious nutty flavor. The beef they get here is always perfectly tender. The fish roe fish balls are delicious, I always try to buy a similar one from hmart but they never taste as good as the ones they have here. I literally eat here once a week because this hotpot is so delicious. Sometimes i'll even take the leftover broth home and heat it up with some bok choy, beef, and udon noodles for lunch the next day. Still delicious!!

The best Chinese dry pot place in Ktown hands down. I love how they made it like buffet style and you can weigh the food to at least 1 pound worth of food. What I do is I put 1 pound worth of meat and that can get you the money worth. It also isn't too expensive either, however, you do have to pay for the sauce and that is around $2.50. Service there is also very friendly. It's a casual stop for a quick meal.

Absolute gas!!! I had no idea what this was before coming but it was so delicious. I filled up my bowl with tons of veggies and meat and they stir fried it as a dry pot. I absolutely demolished everything, which came out to a little over 2 lbs of food.

The place recently changed the layout a bit and it looks so much nicer! The food quality is on top level(fyi very spicy level means VERY SPICY); definitely recommend getting dry hot pot and adding fish! I'm not a fish person but their fish marinade is amazing!
The service is very friendly and the food comes out fast
I would recommend to arrive early since it does get crowded in a peak hours

Became obsessed with malatang since my trip to Korean and I've been on a mission to find malatang places in the states!
So glad I found this place because the food is delicious. They have such a large variety of food. I get the dry mala pot (medium spicy) & I load it up with all the veggies, noodles, tofu, fish cakes, and beef! It always comes out so tasty.
Their sauce bar offers you a bunch of options to make your perfect sauce. You do have to pay $1.50 extra but I always get it because I love getting minced garlic to add to my malatang!
They also open late which is great for my late night cravings!
