Reviews:
true szechuan flavors with strong korean influences. came here late on a weeknight and it was hard to tell who worked there and who were customers, which made the place feel like one big family. our server was really sweet and recommended good dishes.
the hot pot was incredible if you love szechuan peppers and the tingling sensation they give
the toothpick lamb was dry fried in szechuan peppers and was perfect drinking food
the potato noodles were a nice palate cleanser but not sure i'd order them again
its hard to find good szechuan without going real far east, and the vibe here was super warm and friendly
Odumak serves very good tradition Chinese and Korean food.
SERVICE (5/5):
The owner was so friendly and could speak multiple languages (Japanese, Korean, and Chinese). She helped us order and was very fast.
FOOD (5/5):
Very good options, my recommendations are listed below:
- potato noodles (a great dish that takes some of the heat away from the other dishes)
- toothpick lamb (favorite)
- mapo tofu
- tofu soup
I do not recommend the hot pot here.
ATMOSPHERE (4.5/5):
Surprisingly empty at times but comfortable inside. Must valet to park in the lot ($3).
I ordered three dishes. All of them are really tasty! They have exactly the same flavor from my hometown! The design of the restaurant is also very beautiful which is Northeastern China style. Besides, the waitress was very friendly and warm to us. I will definitely go back again! I will keep trying other dishes which seems very good!
Toothpick lamb, hot spicy pork trotter, hot spicy pot and fried pork!!!!! MUST MUST MUST!!!!
This is an authentic Korean and Chinese food restaurant, food is so great, I am huge fan of sausage of rice and spicy pork trotter! Environment is good for hangout with friends, and tables are spacious
It's my first time to try Szechuan food in Ktown, this place is just AWESOME! Please try toothpick lamb! So freaking GOOD :P
Hangout with friends, all my friends like Odumak's food, come lot of time and will keep going!
The best Korean Chinese food restaurant at Ktown, I always go there eat, and the owner is very nice person, kind and lovely
love all the dishes recommended you go there try, I think you will like it!
So spicy and delicious. Menu reads simple but food is complex. We ordered the magic potato strings which turned out to be tasty sweet spicy noodle-like potatoes on a rack; sauteed cabbage which was tangy and spicy; spicy pork strips, pork with cilantro and dried chilis; spicy hot pot which had glass noodles, tofu, sausage, bean sprouts, fish balls in it. Felt like I was back in Chengdu. Next time, I want to order their kung pao chicken and see if it tastes like ones we had in China. Sorry to post photo of polished off plates, but we inhaled the food, there was no time to take photos until we were done. The only challenge was the drink. Owner warned me that Chinese makoli is different from Korean, but I was curious. Chinese makoli has a funk, both smell and taste, definitely an acquired taste, though I'm glad I tried it.
We were seated right away and the booth was very spacious and private which I loved. They did have valet parking option which is always a great thing in Koreatown. They did take a while to get our sides and drinks coming, but the waiter was super friendly. We ordered the lamb, potato string noddles, and spicy wings, which all 3 tasted amazing! My favorite by far was the lamb! It was so flavorful and perfectly seasoned I would definitely go back for that dish. Presentation of food was beautiful.
Very warm, cozy place - the food genuinely tasted like homemade Chinese dishes, which was a nice touch especially so close to Chinese New Year. The owner is a friendly, passionate Chinese Korean lady who was super attentive and kind, like the overfriendly aunts and grandparents one has on the Asian part of the family.
The portions were huge - couldn't even finish 3 dishes among 2 podlike - and tasted pretty decent. The saltiness wasn't really consistent but that just made it taste more like home. We ordered two vegetables and a beef dish, and for vegetable dishes they were pretty good.
definitely a place I would want to frequent - with the food food and hospitable service. It is also a bar so thats an interesting thing to check out.
just come!!!! no need to go all the way to san gabriel authentic and gooooood especially beer intestine
All food are bomb. Toothpick lamb and hotpot are sooooo good. Owner is so kind too. Gotta eat with the Korean Rice Wine. Perfect match!
really good food in here£¡the owner is super nice as well£¡like the beef intestine pot and potato cold dish here. Super fresh! Highly recommend. Wish they can have more business in the future.
This place needs to be more popular! The dishes portion are big and tastes amazing. Waitress who helped us spoke Chinese and was very friendly.
One of my favorite spots at K Town. Usually not very crowded; the owner is very friendly and welcoming. They offer a variety of dishes, which are all quite different from typical KTown foods (the owner is Chinese Korean). I would recommend ÔÂÑÀ¹Ç·¹ÍÅ£¬ÑÀÇ©ÑòÈ⣬ËÉ»¨µ° and À±³´ÖíƤ. This is also one of the few places at KoreaTown that provides fresh veggies lmao
We have been waiting so long to try out this Chinese restaurant in the heart of ktown. We had three dishes: spicy intestine, toothpick lamb, spicy chicken feet.
I do not normally write reviews but it was that delish!! Even the bowl of rice was perfectly cooked. And the A++ customer service...amazing experience.
Think we found our go to spot in ktown.
