Amy is an amazing server. Make sure you absolutely try the spicy whole fish. It is beyond amazing and out of this world. I asked for extreme spicy and they delivered! It was packed full of vegetables and a perfectly fried whole entire fish so you get crispy flavors as well as all of the sauce. I also really enjoyed their shrimp and beef skewers immensely. As well as the spicy chicken wings. We tried the lychee smoothie and mango smoothie and both were tasty, I preferred the mango. They use real lychees in the lychee smoothie.
Very authentic and unique Chinese food! I came with my family and had the great food at One Pot. The dishes were so delicious, especially the Rice w. Chicken and mushroom baked in bamboo tube. We never had this type of dishes anywhere in Boston area! Amazing Congee as well! We will definitely come back! Fav Chinese restaurant in town!
Very unique and authentic Chinese food! The snail noodles soup is definitely the best noodles soup in town with REAL snails and pork bone soup base! Taste awesome! We have also tried the rice baked in bamboo tube wit's Chicken and Chinese sausage. The amazing taste of rice with bamboo flavor impressed me a lot! I would highly recommend this restaurant if you are looking for some speical GuangXi style taste. What a hidden gem in Malden area!
This is by far my favorite Chinese place in the Boston area. It's got its own unique flavor and region that the dishes come from and i think it's for that reason I like it so much.
I pretty much have ordered the same thing and enjoy taking my friends here to see their reaction as well. My go to is the drunken ribs (best sauce I've had in a while), the mapo tofu (nice and spicy), and the house fried rice.
I just tried the Mala lamb (I believe that's its name) and wow the flavor was something I'd never experienced before (everyone at the table thought so to).
Although small, this restaurant should be on the list of every North Boston foodie. I've had a wide variety of great Chinese food in Malden, but the delicate flavors and preparations here surprised me. You can get "chinese takeout" dishes here but I didn't try them; negative reviewers seem to be ordering from that menu which is a mistake because their special dishes are where it's at.
I had Braised Pork Belly, Mala Lamb, and Osmanthus Jelly for dessert. The pork was meltingly tender, mild and light despite being the fattiest cut. Mala Lamb had deep braised flavors, very savory and filling. The jelly was incredible, like consuming a field of flowers.
Overall, there's a lot of interesting dishes here that deserve a taste. Don't come expecting HK, Sichuan, or American Chinese. If you don't know the difference between those, do some reading before you judge the unique flavors at One Pot.
