Reviews:

This is one of the best, authentic non-AYCE hot pot restaurants in San Francisco. Inner Mongolia is the birthplace of hot pot, and as someone who spent significant years of their childhood in Hohhot, this place truly reminded me of the authentic hot pot and lamb I used to eat with my grandparents.
I would like to counter those people who have compared DNM to SF staples like IPOT (AYCE) and given DNM low ratings. There is no comparison. DNM has the competitive advantage in areas like quality, freshness, and flavor. You're meant to enjoy the food here, not stuff your face until you feel uncomfortable.
[Dinner]
I love that you can order a half portion of the lamb stew, which I highly recommend. The portion is huge, more than enough for three people. I came with a group of three and we ordered half with the lamb stew and a tomato soup base for hot pot. I am traditionally not a huge fan of tomato soup, but this soup had rich chunks of tomato with really great flavor. We didn't even need to order extra meat, since the lamb stew comes with ample lamb bones with tender meat that falls right off. We ordered extra napa cabbge, tong hao veggie, potato, noodles, tofu, enoki mushrooms, and the Chinese cruller. We drank almost all of the lamb soup and were extremely satisfied at the end.
The only con of the meal is that they charge 2.50 for bottomless sauces per person, but you really don't need all that much since the stews and soups are SO flavorful.
[Decor]
I loved that the restaurant had authentic Manchu cultural aspects in the restaurant. It was very tasteful and well decorated, and a bit more upscale than the traditional hole in the wall Chinese restaurant. Great for dates and groups.
Overall, I highly recommend coming to DMN for those looking for real, authentic Inner Mongolian food and hot pot. There is nothing like the taste of home.

Went for dinner on a Friday night.
Restaraunt was nicely decorated & clean.
Food was good.
Love the variety of sauce available, some not normally paired wihlth hot pot (i.e., chimichurri sauce).
Food was super tasty.
Only negative: no alcohol.  But I just went across the street and bought alcohol from the  liquor store.

Solid hot pot place!
Very good lamb bone broth.Kobe beef slices were high quality and tasty. Veggies and mushroom were fresh.

First time tried out the authentic inner Mongolian style hotpot in San Francisco.
Unlike other hotpot places in San Francisco Bay Area, either Sichuan style or Japanese Shabu Shabu style.
DNM has own signature lamb soup base for hotpot.
Environment (5/5): small place with 6-7 tables, traditional inner Mongolian decoration everywhere.
Service (5/5): the waiter check on table often for taking out empty plates.
What we ordered:
House Special lamb Haslet (5/5): super tasty, the lamp haslet are chopped in small piece with slow-cook lamb bone soup.
Tips: Drink a bowl of original taste soup before going for the hotpot style.
Premium Lamb Tenderloin (5/5): fresh, tender, marble, very match with the lamb offal soup base.
Beef tenderloin (4/5): also very fresh, but less favorable than the lamb tenderloin.
Frozen tofu (5/5)& Sliced Daikon (5/5): put the tofu and Daikon at the beginning can make the veggie more flavorous.

The minute we walked in, I knew we hit the jackpot. The air was filled with the aroma of lamb...the kind that you'd only smell at authentic hotpot restaurants.
The place is relatively small, with only 6 or 7 tables. You can tell they paid attention to detail - the paintings on the walls are nicely curated; the hotpots custom made; and the dippings cart a nice touch. The small sign on each table tells you why they named the place DNM (the acronym for "Big Inner Mongolia" in Chinese), and that the couple who owns it got married there. All in all, the place is full of personality.
We ordered the half/half - spicy broth on one side ($13) plus lamb broth on the other (a whopping $35!), which indeed came with LOTS of meat attached to the bones, like all the other reviewers pointed out. The lamb broth was a tad too salty for my taste, but very flavorful. We also ordered a platter of lamb (good but not great) and a platter of beef (meh, a little tough) on the side. Many of the side items were over-priced in my opinion, but we ordered them nonetheless, because....the service was FANTASTIC! Warm, welcoming, speedy. We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner.
While other hotpot places are cheaper, this one's my favorite because of service, food quality, and the interior decor. Go give it a shot.

Good food and good service! A little bit expensive but deserves!
We arrived in a Saturday night around 8 and we had seated right away.
Since I am allergic to beef, we ordered three kinds of lamb and a lot of veggies also.
The sauce is not included with the soup and it's like 3 something per person. And I love the sauce! Especially the sesame sauce. Sesame sauce with garlic is perfect for lamb!
Although every dishes look small, we got full really soon. The food we ordered might enough for four person. But we can have the uncooked veggies home.

This place is legit! Definitely the best northern style hot pot In the San Francisco area. We came here on a not so busy Wednesday night. Was seated right away, the waitress was very friendly, she recommended and explained some soup base style.
We ended up going with half mushroom broth and half lamb pot($35). Then we picked three plates of lamb meat (shoulder, leg and tenderloin) and other typical veggies and tofu stuff for hot pot. When the pot arrived we weren't expecting that much of lamb bones, actually those are lamb spines or known as (羊蝎子)it's hard to find here in the states, some Chinese restaurant claims to have this type of lamb spine but not really. But DNM really serves the ones that you find in China, very impressive! The meats were so juicy and tender, we immediately decided we will be back next time to just eat the lamb spine bone and nothing else. The mushroom broth is good too, we used that part to cook just the veggies.
Overall we fall in love with this place, very good service, nice decoration, great selection and tasting foods. Yes, price is on the high side, but you get what you pay for. You can't compare this hot pot place to other all you can eat hot pot places because they are not really serving the same style of hot pot and not on the same level. It's like comparing Panda Express to say R&G Lounge.
One suggestion I would like to make to the owner is that thinking about adding fermented bean curb (红豆腐乳)chives (韭菜花)and fish sauce onto your sauce cart so all the people from northern China (or especially ppl from BeiJing) can make their beloved sauce for lamb hot pot.

If you love hot pot or if you are a meat person, this is a MUST go place!
I was so glad that I was able to introduce my husband and father-in law to try this authentic Chinese restaurant in America!
DNM is the best, they have homemade sauces you can get, we love the green sauce and we get it every time we go. a
Oh,they got very tasty soup too, I enjoyed a lot to have lots of soup there during pregnancy and after having the baby:)

If you love hot pot or if you are a meat person, this is a MUST go place!

Excellent experience. The staff are really friendly and the menu is very veggie friendly!

This is probably my favorite hot pot place in town, its delicious, traditional and clean! Loved it! Will definitely come back again!

BIG LOVE of the SOUP! I would say I will highly recommend this place to ALL of my friends! This is the hot pot but this is not the one as usual. I love the pork soup base the most and lamb is very good as well. Then I will suggest that order only veggie as extra because of the soup container with lots of stuff inside, you don't have to order all the meat and other like other hot pot.

Such a gem! I'm sure it won't stay this way but we had no wait for a table on a Saturday evening. Just as good, if not better than the more popular hot spot places around. Unique flavors as it's Mongolian style. I'm hesitant to share because I want to keep it a secret, but I want them to do well, too. Their staff is really friendly and helpful and their food is delicious.
We got the spicy broth and the mushroom broth, with Kobe beef and lamb. I recommend all of it. The spicy brothe is a great amount of heat that builds over time, so it's just right for me. (I like a lotta fire.) I also second other peoples' suggestion on the buckwheat tea- totally worth the $1!
Next time we'll for sure try the lamb broth, since it's their specialty. My date isn't too keen on meat on the bone, so we passed this time. We found out after the fact that you can get 1/2 and 1/2 with the specialty choices, so be sure to give that a go when you want to try some of the other flavors too.

DNM Hot Pot is awesome.
Usually we hit up all you can eat hot pot, for the obvious reasons. Since DNM popped u we figured we'd give it a shot, and it did not disappoint.
We ordered the Mongolian Lamb Pot as well as the classic spicy broth. The high quality of the ingredients is obvious and a delightful change of pace. The lamb in the Lamb Pot definitely stole the show.

The service was super on point, too.
DNM is a welcome addition to the neighborhood.

Sufficiently spicy hot pot with an extensive menu. The glass noodles were good and so were the beef and mutton. Would come again.

it is very tasty, how quality of meet and very traditional soup. love it !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The noodles are really good.  It is very clean. It's fun to cook your own food!  One of the best hot pot places in SF.  There could be more sauces.  Music sets the mood.

Just a quick tip if you want to eat here, reserve a table!!! There aren't many seats in this establishment, 2 big tables for 8 or so AND 6 tables for 4 seaters.
Anyways, their sauces are in house made, the lamb is a must have, and environment is just awesome.
Yeah, it is a bit pricey but the money is worth the money! If you going for cheap, low standard dining ... It is not for you!! Also to note, this is not a fancy, expensive place.

I just hosted a group dinner for 12 at DNM and am leaving there completely satisfied but not feeling bloated and over salted like one can.  The meat all was super fresh and MSG-free broths which were so very tasty and full of umami.  Because we had so many people, we got to try many different dishes and broths.  Highlights were the lamb bone broth, beef tendon meatballs, lamb shoulder, kobe beef, shiitake mushrooms and the crown daisy greens which did a great job of soaking up all the tasty broth.  Oh ... and the LAMB RIBS.  Yum.
The sauce cart also was a big hit with the group as people could customize their own flavors.
I was a little bit afraid that our group was too big but they did a wonderful job of accommodating us and the owners/hosts Alex and Lorraine were really helpful in suggesting dishes.
It was good enough that  two of our group decided to return here with their mothers for Mother's Day.
Finally, parking in this hood is a snap!
I can't wait for my next stuffing at DNM.

This place is great on a cold, windy SF night. They take reservations and can get packed!

Really good hotpot! Our test is always the broth, especially the spicy, and lots of places fail. DNM's is HOT, lots of mala spice, really good. Very attentive service as well.

Great experience! You can choose hot pot with clear or spicy broth and/or non soup dishes (definitely get the scallion pancakes!).  My son loved the sauce station where you can make your own dipping sauces for the hot pot. The lamb and beef tenderloin were quite tasty. Definitely try this place!

This is the most comfortable hot pot place in Bay Area with tons of Mongolian character with their wall decor and tableware (and of course the menu). The owners and staff are also super friendly. As for the food itself, it's spectacular and you can tell they prepare it with heart! I love their mushroom as well as the spicy soup base. The well-selected meatballs and fresh beef/lamb go well in any soup. Also, their DIY sauce cart brings out your creativity. Looking forward to the approval of their liqueur license!!!

This brand-new place is amazing and awesome!! The broths are absolutely divine--- clearly homemade instead of the salty mess some hotpot restaurants pass off as soup. There were great meat and vegetable choices, and it was all impeccably fresh. The service was helpful and swift.
For dessert you should get the mantou...it comes with sweet condensed milk, and it is the perfect end to your meal.
So excited to welcome this place to the neighborhood. We will definitely be back.
