Hands down some of the best food I've had in this town! Everything we ordered was uniquely seasoned & flavorful! We did come in closer to closing hours and that always makes me nervous on what service and quality of food we would get. But it not disappoint!
A little bit of a language barrier but the gal did make sure she at least pointed out on the menu to confirm what we wanted, I appreciated that!
The location was modern with fun lighting features. It was a little on the warmer side.. I wasn't terribly uncomfortable but my husband was. It was also on a day we had 105 degree weather so the AC might have not been working.
All n All it was fantastic food & we will definitely be back! So happy we gave this place a try!
Walked into a new, modern and spacious restaurant. Very clean and was sat right away on a Thursday afternoon. Current lunch promo - free drink with over $20 purchase. Tried plum juice for the first time. At first sip it was not my cup of tea, but it gradually grew on me, very unique taste. They definitely put their own spin of flavors here, in a great way. Wonton soup had light and creamy cheese broth. Wontons were wrapped well and evenly, didn't fall apart. Veggies in soup were not super wilted by the hot broth, perfect texture. My favorite items were the sliced beef & tendon in chili sauce appetizer and stir fried green beans. Great textures and amazing flavors. Chicken chow mein was done right and the noodles still have bounce in them. Highly recommend the food here. Menu is competitively priced. Service was good and servers were attentive.
I've been coming here for some time now and am happy to see this place get the recognition it deserves. Ive had the pig feet, thinly slice bacon ala szechuan, the reality is im not sure what's called. The mapo tufo is very, very good and countless other dishes. I usually order the wontons in spicy sauce, the cold noodles, side of rice, a coke, and water. It's about $23, not including tip. I reserve most of the rice to then pour the leftover spicy sauce of the wontos to eat with the rice. The noodles are freshening. Slightly spicy, numbing, sour with cucumber slices. The wontons are good as well. Hitting the same notes, expect the sourness from vinegar, I assume. Service is always great. At times, they have the TV on showing szechuan cooking recipes. It gives a slight ambiance feel. Usually the entertainment are the people you are there with. I have these guys as a bookmark because I don't know any other szechuan places near by. It's good eats.
I like going to Chinese restaurants that are more focused on regional food rather than the typical overly salted and sweetened American Chinese food we're all familiar with. The smashed cucumbers with garlic were nice little snacks! Fresh, crunchy, and addictive! The eggplant with pork was also delicious although I must admit I was frightened by the amount of raw garlic on top! The fish filets in oil (one of my fav dishes) were perfectly done! Such a big portion for a great price and also so yummy! The server was friendly although a bit oblivious and slow to move. When I walked in, the air heavily smelled of old cooking oil which I hated but the restaurant was peaceful and quiet. They then turned on some show depicting Chinese cuisine on the tv for background noise after I ordered.
Stockton isn't a city that I expected to have a great Szechuan restaurant like Prosperity, but I've always been impressed by my past experiences coming here especially with how authentic each dish is. My family and I got takeout each time I've gone, but the interior of the restaurant is very clean and the service was really good as well. The lady working there when we picked up our order was very nice and it didn't take long for our food to be ready.
Their spicy dishes are legitimately spicy and some dishes have that numbing flavor which might not be for everyone. My standouts were definitely their A Choy, Spicy Braised Fish Fillet (which is not spicy at all), and Spicy Eggplants with Tofu. I was excited the most about the Scallion Pancake Beef Rolls which was solid, but I do wish they added more Hoisin sauce or provided some on the side.
I hope this is a restaurant that stays around long term because this is a family style authentic Szechuan restaurant which might not fit everyone's pallet. While there are a lot of Chinese restaurants around the area that would typically just serve Americanized dishes like orange chicken and cream cheese rangoons which I don't mind here and there either, but Prosperity is the real deal and I would like to keep coming here again whenever I'm in Stockton.
The best, most flavorful Hot n Sour soup! The Mapo Tofu was so good I didn't get a chance to take a pic lol. Dont know about all the other dishes as I usually just get these two. I always order delivery and have never had issues with my orders.
If you are from the Bay Area, this may be your only choice for a good Chinese restaurant in Stockton. The dishes we had were mildly spicy and very flavorful. Unlike other restaurants, the food here is made with care. The meat and vegetables were all cut to similar size and cooked perfectly.
The portions are large and served attractively.
The waitress was very courteous and friendly.
The restaurant itself is fairly large, kind of minimalist decor.
Highly recommend giving these people a try.
When you walk in the staff is always friendly and prompt, they have been serving us since they opened and its always excellent. The food is immaculate and honestly some of the best chinese food my partner and I have had. We recommend the sesame chicken and beef chow mein. Lots of seating too so you can bring parties. Love this business!
I'm a creature of habit, I've always been a Yen Du and Peking Chinese food fan, but these places seemed to fail us the last few times we've gotten take out. A friend of mine posted a few pictures and once she said this was the best Chinese she's had in a long time, we decided to check it out. It's expensive, but I'd buy it again and again. The flavor of these dishes were absolutely delicious. The ease of ordering online and paying at pick up was even better. If you love Chinese food, give this place a try. You won't be disappointed.
I visited this establishment for the first time fairly recently. Upon entering, you are hit with a warm and inviting feeling. I was in a bit of a rush that day, so I had to order my food to-go. In terms of service, my order was taken and served quickly. I ordered their pork and cabbage dumplings, as well as their pork wontons with spicy sauce. In terms of the food, I was pleasantly surprised. The wrappings on both items were cooked perfectly, with no raw or overcooked bits of dough. The dough to filling ratio was also exceptional. The fillings for both items were seasoned well. In addition, the temperature of the food was still warm by the time I got home. The sauce provided for both items were spicy, acidic, and delicious. Overall, whether you are looking for good quality dumplings or some nostalgic Szechuan food, Prosperity Szechuan Cuisine is the place to visit in Stockton, CA.
Amazing food !! Me and my husband really enjoyed the food. Service was slow and person attending was not very keen to help.
Ambiance is calm and the decor is very cute!
Overall we were there for food, and it was great !
Things I've tried that were delish:
-sweet and sour pork chop
-house fried rice
-beef noodle soup
-scallion pancake
-boiled dumplings
-strawberry milk
Their bok choy was only ok. Could've used alil more garlic and salt
Would go back to try other dishes
This place was
