Amazing service, amazing food!
We went as a part of 5, but soon after placing our order 2 of us had to leave (1 was going to come back after half an hour).
Not only did the waitress lady help us pick what to get for a part of 5, she offered to pause the cooking while our friend came back so that the food would be served warm and fresh.
She constantly checked up on us while waiting for our friend, and we finished 2 plates of scallion pancakes (it was that good!!).
All of the dishes were amazing. The cucumber dish had a spice (I can't remember the name) that gave a tingling feeling to your tongue. Very unique, it's an experience.
We enjoyed the food so much that just the 4 of us finished all of the dishes ordered originally for 5 people. (And an extra order of scallion pancake)
Underrated spot, would totally go back!
Best around. The only weaknesses is their tiny parking lot, and how they can't seem to describe their dishes well to the general public on their menu or online. Anyone ever hear of Marketing? While the content/info could be improved... they are a beacon of light in an entire area of terrible Chinese food, and this goes for Stony Brook's overrated fare, as well. This food is another level, and it's clear as day. Highly recommended. Though... would it kill you to offer crunchy noodles??? I get it's not traditional and it's just byproduct of cheap takeout places... but would love them to do an amazing spin on something to placate their very satisfied customers (yet who secretly yearn for it every time they slurp their soup). Their Wonton soup is best on Long Island, btw.
Just clean well made food and certain dishes are just made better here.
I love their kung pao, Dan Dan noodles. Spicy wonton, and most of all beef with shredded green chili peppers.
Also very nice service.
We were looking for local Chinese food while we were staying in this area. We wanted sit down, not takeout. This place was a few miles from our hotel. We started with the typical spring rolls and I had chicken with broccoli and the pork fried rice. I can't remember what my partner had but it was Chicken with lots of mixed vegetables. Both entrées were excellent. They seem to do a big takeout business also. If you're in the area stop in.
Spent the day at a car show, wasn't sure where to eat, saw this restart on yelp. It had almost 5 stars, so we decided to try it.
Will it deserves 5 stars. We share the scallion fried rice, spicy mango with shrimp, tofu Thai basil. Each one was more amazing then the other. A must if your in Smithtown.
Consistently delicious food. Have been coming here for over 2 years. This is our go-to for Chinese hands down.
Even though it's in the next town over, we never mind the drive. The food and service is well worth it.
The dry pots and ma po tofu are our favorites for sure. Ordered the cold noodles tonight and they were fabulous! Nothing is ever greasy or fatty here.
Great food, lots to choose from. Ordered the chili oil dumplings, scallion pancakes, and edamame. Food was prepared fast and delivered quickly.
I had the spicy chicken with dry hot pepper and the dumplings in chili oil. Both were the perfect level of spiciness and had so much flavor. This is certainly an elevated level of Chinese food.
Will definitely order again
We ordered the scallion pancakes, scallion fried rice, and sesame chicken. Everything was amazing! The scallion fried rice was something we never had before and the combination of scallion and pieces of fried egg is something you must try!
Tried for first time for lunch. Beef noodle soup was delicious. Chicken and broccoli lunch was also very good and comes with soup. Fried dumpling were my son's favorite. Small place but cute and clean. We will definitely be back
OMG! Where to begin. First off,I'm kinda a weird guy,I like to eat Exotic and weird stuff. When I saw the menu for this restaurant I had to go. First of all, very friendly and attentive employees. Now to the food I had. I started with the cold appetizers. The beef and tripe in chili sauce was to die for. The beef and tripe were both very tender and the quantity was incredible. This dish had a spicy, a little on the hot side taste. But overall very enjoyable. The second dish I had was the kidneys in chili sauce again a cold appetizer. The amount of food again was incredible, the dish was filled with kidney. Again very tender and tasty. Now my main meal was The dry pot pork intestines. This dish came with a heater under it loaded with peppers mushrooms pork intestines are you name it peppers like hot peppers onions it even had lotus root in it it was incredible incredible dish I could not finish it. Most of it came home with me. Can't wait to have it later. Overall all three dishes soda and tip came out to around $60 can't beat the price for what you get. They have a pretty big menu not everything is spicy. Take my word for it when in the area definitely, definitely visit this place. The menu is online and on yelp. Enjoy!
How is the place not packed? The food is great and the dining room is reasonably nice. Service is a bit rushed and it is a mystery why a cup of soup (only bowls) are available. There are almost no sit down Chinese restaurants left, and this one deserves a try. If you think takeout from a hole-in-the-wall is Chinese foot you will be blown away by Spicy Home Tasty.
