Food aside the service was fantastic. That was one of the thing I noticed from the other yelp reviews and I have to say I was not disappointed. You have the option to join the waitlist through yelp but there was practically no wait when we came around 6:15 for dinner. Friendly to mandarin speaker. Would definitely recommend if you don't want to wait 1 hour to eat at Boiling Point.

Griddle Cooked Fish 香鍋魚塊 - mild spicy.
 

If you like dry pot you'll love Black Bao Hot Pot! It's like a dry pot version of boiling point but so much more flavorful.
There are four flavor choices, two spicy and two non spicy, as well as a large selection of different meats. All the entrees come with sides and a free tea.  I got the numbing spicy fatty beef pot and the regular spicy chicken pot.  The portions are pretty large, my boyfriend and I got one each and we ate around half each.  Just be warned, the chicken pot uses chicken chunks and some pieces have bones, so if you're not a fan of picking out chicken bone I'd get a different pot.  The dry pots also come with a large mix of different veggies including peppers, onions, bean sprouts, potatoes, and woodear mushrooms. You can also add on additional toppings in the back.
The staff is also super friendly and helpful to explain their menu and offer recommendations. The service is super quick and the restaurant itself is very clean.  The decor is like a mix between traditional Chinese masks with modern brick wall aesthetics.
I initially planned to go to a restaurant at Yes Plaza, but after not finding any parking I gave up and found this place on yelp! I'm so glad I did because it's tasty, affordable, and there's PLENTY of parking because the lot is huge. I'll definitely return!
 

Service is on point!!!
The ladies are very friendly and sweet. A lady in her 40s greeted us and asked if it's our first time dining in when she handed us the menu. She even thanked us for trying them out.
Towards the end of our meal we saw she gave this twisted balloon to the lil girl sitting behind us. How sweet of her!! Most Asian especially Chinese restaurants are notorious for falling behind on service and it brighten my day to see such kind act.
Free appetizers were served, seaweed and bean sprouts. When you order a dry pot, you can add a tea for $1 or milk tea for $1.50
We had beef and chicken. We definitely like the beef a lot more. Chicken were mostly skin and bones. Barely any meat attached.
They're having a promotion right now, when you buy two pots you get a $10 coupon for your next visit before the year ends.

Even though this place is new but I have been wanting to try it out. I actually came yesterday at 3pm but they actually have a break from 3-5. Therefore I came today again. In short, my craving is satisfied. It is hard to find small dry pot (1-person portion) around the area and I always crave for dry pot myself. This place will be my go-to starting from now. The taste is on point and the portion is really generous. I consider myself a big eater but I can't finish my pot here. Also the customer service is above average. I was sneezing and the owner (I believe) came to give me more napkins and said bless you. Not a big thing but it is detail that matters. Will definitely come back.

What really made the experience here five stars was the service. It was absolutely AMAZING!!! They were SO attentive and prompt, I was very impressed. I got the vegetable dry pot and I thought it was quite delicious. I am looking forward to trying some of their other options when we come back next.

Though I am the first time to be here which is Black Bao Hot Pot,I already fall in love with this restaurant!When we came in,the staff very friendly to introduce the hot pot they serve.I ordered two pots with my friend.To be honest, I must give those two high comment.If it is possible,they deserve six stars!

I normally don't write yelp reviews, but I can't not write one after eating here. The food was good, but the service was exceptional. I came for a Christmas dinner with my family and it was our first time here. There were only two employees so it was a little difficult to get their attention at first, but once we did, they took their time to explain what each dish was and what would taste good with what sauce. They never failed to check up on us and they were really receptive to feedback. I expected people to be grumpy when working on Christmas day, but it was all smiles here. Not only did they serve us well, but the nice employee walked us out the door and even waited outside with my mom and my aunt as I got my car to pick them up due to the rain! That's not something you'd expect your server to do after eating at a restaurant haha. It was a great experience overall!
Also, I would highly recommend the fatty beef with the special house sauce! It was delicious!
 
This our first time here and the dry pot is really tasty and will definitely be back for more. I love their dry beef pot and seafood soup pot. One of the best places and will recommend this place to more of my friends and coworkers.

Love the color and taste of their food. Spicy level was a bit over my limit even for mild. Went with a friend who had stomachache from breakfast so I only ordered for my own. After my order was out, waitresses came over with a cup of warm water and some suggestions to massage stomach. She came over the second time around to check on my friend. The extra miles they provided is not needed but greatly appreciated.  You don't get that from other places. If you can take the spicy. Go try. If you can't take the spicy. Order something that is not spicy and experience the kindness from this place.  I loved my dish and got left over to go. Portion is too big for myself.

Excellent service! Nice & clean restaurant. I ordered Fish & spare ribs pots for 2 people. Order came with steamed  rice, 2 small pickled side dishes & free ice tea. The pot size per serving is generous. I like the fish pot alot, spare ribs was good also. The bowl of white rice was sprinkled with black sesame seeds, nice touch! We even have good amount of left over to take home.

I really enjoyed my lunch here at Black Bao hot pot :) the servers are very well trained and have really nice attitude. I definitely felt taken care of here. It is similar to The Boiling Point , but southern Chinese style, which makes it more flavorful. The interiors are also very on point here. They match the whole theme in the restaurant. I recommend this restaurant to any foodie who's down to try new styles and flavors.

This place is new but super awesome. Individual pot is great idea and the portion is super generous. Taste is very authentic. For me, it is super hard to find a frog leg dish and this place cooked very well. Definitely worth check it out.

Wonderful service. Pretty tasty food. Price is reasonable. You get small side dishes. Good quality rice which is surprising because most Chinese restaurants tend to cheap out on the rice. we got the highest spicy level, it definitely hits the spot. The house made sauce has a good flavor to it. It's good to mix the spice with housemade sauce. Will definitely come back.

Tast pretty good with juicy flavor and a lot of meat. The spicy level is actually a little bit more spicier than other stores. With definitely come again!

One of the most favorite places to eat late at night. The food is very flavorful and very filling. The dry pot has different variety of vegetables and different options for meat. The appetizers are offered but I didn't find them flavorful, also black iced tea comes with the combo which is quite refreshing. The place is spacious and very clean. The stuff is very helpful and attentive.

Nice and clean environment. Very friendly and attentive service! All the ladies here are very nice and go over everything for the customer. I ordered the spicy dry hotpot pork ribs. It's good portion and very spicy which is exactly what I came here for on a cold night. If you like Northern Chinese dry pot, you will like it. Overall excellent service and good food. Will come back whenever I'm craving for some spicy dry hotpot.

This place is really good. Food is bomb, service is great. Definitely recommend, and definitely be back. I don't normally eat the intestines, but I had seconds here. I'm too busy eating now. Will update this later.

A new place for spicy hot pot. Ordered a fat beef togo. They are very nice to offer me a black tea for free. Lucky day!!!!!

LOCATION : There's no sign of "Black Bao Hot Pot" -- there's Chinese letters and the "Grand Opening" sign is how I knew where to go
Plenty of parking because it's that huge plaza parking
PRICE : It's priced $$.  It's not cheap however in terms of value it's fair.
It's not an incredible deal but it's not a rip-off.  It's about $13 and you get rice, tea, and small sides.
TASTE : It was good.  Ethnic szechuan wasn't too spicy though it was there.  They gave a good amount of food and I saw another table of two sharing one pot.
I enjoy the sweetened tea a lot.
ATMOSPHERE : It's interesting and chinese.  They have the masks on the wall, red decor, and wear Chinese attire.  A good amount of them don't speak fluent english but you can get by.
CONCLUSION : It's heavy so can't come back too frequently but overall tasty and good experience.  Not blown away by the value but it was fair and enjoyable and ethnic.  Maybe this'll be 4 stars as I come back but for now it was great and I'm feeling generous.
