I love this location and their noodle dishes despite their kitchen is exposed in front of entrance as soon as you enter its on your face that lanzhou noodle ( handmade stretched noodles ) they are making behind the glass in front of your face to show you how good and professional they are in that also its like appetizer while you watching them!
I really do recommend here if you want a really good noodle with good prices!
Yes they have so many other dishes like kabobs and cold dishes BUT if you are on the budget and you want save money while you have a great meal just stick to their noodle soups specially their beef noodle (house beef noodle) or lamb !

Northern Cafe serves up the freshest noodles around! I've come here many times with my family and it's the same consistent, great taste every single visit. Kevin is one of the noodle masters and always has a smile on when he sees and greets my family.
The restaurant is extremely bright and well-lit. Parking is easy (they have a small lot behind the restaurant, but there is a gigantic lot for the plaza right next door) and never an issue even at peak times.
I always get the House Special Lamb Sliced Noodle. It's PACKED with flavor - tender pieces of lamb w/ green and red bell peppers with the freshest, thick noodles I've had anywhere. It's honestly NEARLY too salty, but luckily doesn't go overboard. I'm always here when I'm in the area! Really really good food, well-priced, and they're open late (until 12 AM) - come try if you haven't yet!
This place has been around for ages! Finally stepped in tonight for dinner and this place is impressive! We ordered the #1 with medium flat noodles and the Dan Dan Mian. Both dishes were so good. The dan dan Mian flavor wasn't as strong as what I'm used to but I love that there is still a small kick of spice and it doesn't leave your mouth feeling numb where you can't feel anything at all. The flat noodles were my favorite with a clear broth. If you have the regular beef noodle soup, it is not #1! I thought it was but it turned out that it was a clear broth. It was still really good with tons of great flavor.
We also ordered the three item cold dish. They ask you to come up to the bar to choose what you want. that was okay, I would say my favorite would be the pig ear. I still think yunan wins for flavor. If you want a healthier version of good Asian food, this is your spot!
This is definitely one of the favorite noodle house in town, especially the northern China style cold dishes and fried dumplings ( needs to wait for 20 mins to get served)

My friend recommended me this cafe because it is unexpensive and noodles are good. Then I found Pickled Pepper, Fat Intestine Noodle Soup is the best noodle for me in LA. It is spicy, sour and salty. I know many people cannot accept the chitterlings, actually you won't smell or taste anything strange. But you also can choose pickled perrer, beef noodle soup. Just the meats are different. I like the smooth, thick and chewy noodles. You can see the bakers knead the doughs. Their noodles are fresh. Lamb triple noodle soup is good too. It's not spicy. House special sliced noodle is not good, a little bit soft, I don not like.
The environment is very good because there are not as many people as the other restaurant. You don't need to wait.

Came here on a random late night. This place didn't disappointed. The gf likes this place so that means I'm gonna be back.
So many delicious options here! They have everything from soup, noodles, skewers, etc. The prices are awesome too with generous portions. The interior looks remodeled and is very clean.
I loved the medium plate. For $5.99, they give you 3 options of the cold appetizers to choose from. They scoop such a generous portion onto a large plate - I love it! There are about 12 options to choose from and i chose the chicken gizzard, pig ear, and tripe. All were very good.
We tried their noodle soups here and got the Lamb Noodle Soup and their House Special Beef Noodle Soup (tendon and meat). The Lamb Noodle Soup is very healthy and clear with very little salt added so you can strongly taste the lamb taste in the broth. It's great if you're looking for a healthy option and love lamb! The House Special Beef Noodle Soup was delicious because it came with a decent amount of tendon with meat. One side of the bowl is topped with tendon and the other half with meat - so that their chunks aren't tendon and beef together in one piece. This beef noodle soup is not the braised one so the soup base is also on the clear side. Although clear, it has a very strong beef broth taste while still being on the healthier side. So yummy!
You get to choose from a bunch of noodles - which in my opinion was very difficult to choose from cause it doesn't have any pictures to show what they looked like or what kind of noodles they were (whether they were flour noodles, rice noodles, etc). I ended up getting the regular round noodles. It was delicious regardless since it tasted like they make their own noodles. It has a nice firm texture to it.
They open late til midnight every night! I'll definitely be returning!

This place is so good. I got the dan dan noodles and they were exquisite. The toppings are so good and the prices here are insanely fair compared to the Bay Area. I wish I could eat like this everyday.
What an awesome find! Love the fact that they kept the traditional hand pulled noodle! The kids and I enjoyed watching them make each noodles fresh! The staff were friendly and accommodating. We came in as two families with 4 little ones and they made a space that fit all of us. I seriously think their noodles are a definite must!!! Love the kind of menu they have where you get to pick the kind of thickness and shape of the noodles. We ordered different kinds of noodles and dumplings and we all enjoyed them! Oh! And don't forget to try their beef roll wrap things!! The wrap was so light yet somewhat chewy and the flavors were so simple but oh so delicious!!! We will definitely be coming back!
Cheap and delicious! We came here almost every week now. Highly recommend!!! The reason why my review is so short because I wanted my Coke and I'm required to write a review RIGHT NOW lol. How can a person write a review before trying out the food first?
