Introduction:

Yue Huang Dim Sum is a cornerstone in the Sacramento community and has been recognized for its outstanding Chinese cuisine, excellent service and friendly staff.

It is known for its modern interpretation of classic dishes and its insistence on only using high quality fresh ingredients.

Reviews:

This was our first visit have dim sum  in Yue Huang. It was very delicious!
You can always tell how good a restaurant is by the clientele. Many real Chinese patrons were dining here, so we knew it had to be pretty good!
I took some photos of what we had.
The staff are polite, friendly and accommodating.  This restaurant is very clean and inviting.
Each dim sum cart has so many varieties of dim sum to choose from.
We also had congee. (Scallops with green onions and Fried donut) Wonderful!
The prices are fair! I would highly recommend Yue Huang to all my friends!
The tea is served in a nice pot, clear, so you can see what is inside.
This restaurant is very busy on the weekends. Today is Thursday, and we were seated at noon easily, although there were many other diners too!!

First off, service is seriously FANTASTIC here. You seriously never get this kind of service at Asian restaurants. I was pleasantly surprised.

Boyfriend and I ordered so much food for 2 people. We purposely did that so we didn't have to cook during my birthweek (yes, it's a thing).

The waiters were always so nice to check up on us, grab us this and that, refilled our waters and tea, and even boxed up all our food for us (I'm a sucker for that and will willingly tip more for it).

My favorite items here:

Black bean stir fry clams ( a bit pricey, I remember it being $17 a plate, but delicious with rice)

Salty fish fried rice (SO GOOD, not for the weak)

Baked Salty egg sweet buns (during dim sum)

Sadly, the peking duck was okay, I expected them to take the bones out (how it's meant to be eaten).

Overall, I'm so happy we have a nice Chinese banquet style restaurant so close to home.

The ambiance inside is nice, but also casual. Nicely decorated. The potstickers here are really really good and so is the broccoli beef  . They have a huge dining room so it may be a little bit of a wait on certain days but it's a good place for groups and families.

We found this place on yelp on our way down back to SF from Tahoe. They have 3.5/5 star ratings on yelp, which in my experience is the score a really authentic Chinese restaurant get. I was not wrong. The food was fresh, tasted great. Their custard bun was phenomenal, it was sweetened perfectly and had a very prominent milk taste. The porridge was one of the greatest I've had in a while. Har gaw (shrimp dumpling) was great too, for someone that don't usually like shrimp dumplings, because it was not mushy and tasteless like what I used to get. I'll come here again every time I visit Sacramento.

Excellent place for dim sum and other meals too. Prices are reasonable. Interior design is nice and impressive. Even the bamboo steamers are in a cool hexagon shape. And yes, there are push carts during dim sum. The rice rolls, chicken feet, fried taro dumplings are all great. Two buns of note: the salty, melty egg bun and the walnut buns. My family also likes the glutinous rice wraps. They also have a suckling pig dish that's excellent. Seriously, a great selection for dim sum and a large dinner menu too. There is live seafood here. Service is good.

Great dim sum! Everything was delicious. No wait at the time my friend and I came in around 2:00pm. I was told it gets super busy, lucky us! Staff was nice and attentive. Thanks for a great lunch.

Love this place. Haven't had a bad plate yet, and been steadily going here for several months now.

Service is friendly enough, always a table available when we walk in, and the food os prepared quickly and comes out piping hot.

If you're into Seafood they have tanks you can pick fresh fish from. Not a seafood person, but it looks pretty cool.

Cleanly, good food, fair prices, friendly service. Can't beat it, 100% worth a shot. Has become our group outing spot for Chinese food.

Excellent dim sum. I almost hate to give a good review because this place is crowded enough!  We've eaten at dim sum restaurants in Hong Kong and all through China.  The food here is very authentic with great flavors. We can't wait to go back.  The staff was also very nice. Their chicken feet were fantastic and the meatiest ones I've ever had. The sucking pig and fried pork belly were awesome as well. We were happy to have leftovers due to the generous portions and surprised by the reasonable pricing.

Oh my goodness. This is a pretry authentic dim sum place here in Natomas! The only issue was that it took a while before the ladies with the carts finally got to us. But once they did, my friend and I got a number delicious dishes. Price was reasonable and I would definitely come again!

The decoration inside was NICE. Damn, the place looks like a royal palace lol. With lots of fish tanks, ancient chinese pottery that looked real expensive, bottle of wine in glass shelves etc. The folks who work there are all dressed in gowns and suits. Not to mention, they also have chandeliers, and fancy plush chairs. Of course, all the tables and chairs are clean. Even the washroom was real clean. Talk about a nice atmosphere.

And we just came here to get some chinese dim sum? Who'd expect.

The food here is amazing. Especially the beef balls which were oily and soft. Served hot and fresh. The food also come quickly, even when you order from the kitchen instead of from the dim sum carts.

The service is quick and friendly. The price is reasonable. I think they can probably charge more and people would still go, because the place is so nice, and there is a lot of people who eat there--we had to wait like half and hour to go in. Compare this to the other stores in the same mall, where there are empty tables and no wait.

First time visit and the food was delicious! I'm not a fan of    fried rice but I loved theirs. I'll definitely come back for dim sum for lunch

Dinner was amazing . We loved the food , and service . You even get desert at the end of meal .

This place hits all the spots! The sweet custard filled steamed buns are delightful- and something I haven't seen anywhere else! We arrived at opening and didn't have to wait at all. The service was fast, they had many different options, and all were of great quality! The shu mai were bigger than I've seen, the steam buns were perfect consistency, and everything was really tasty and clean! Would highly recommend!!

Service: 5/5 walked in and was seated right away, restaurant was quiet, and wait staff was super attentive and friendly.

Food: 5/5 I ordered the pork potstickers and was expecting your basic potsticker but these potstickers came out so fresh and fried to perfection. I tried the lemon chicken and it was by far my favorite, not too much batter, perfect cut of meat, and not too sweet. My boyfriend got the mapo tofu and beef fried rice, everything was very good and fresh.

Overall, I'm very satisfied with their food, service, and cleanliness. I will be back to try dim sum!

Came here for lunch with several coworkers. We were seated right away and were able to order dimsum and lunch plates. We got some shrimp balls, shrimp in rice paper, lo mai gai, Chinese broccoli, tripe, pork spare ribs, and some other dim sum I can't remember. We also got some chrysanthemum tea. Everyone was super full and we fed seven people for a total of $120 + tip. Everything was delicious and hot when served. Would definitely come back for dim sum.

We have been here before because of the great Dim Sum, but last night eight of Us had a large variety of the Dinner dishes and all were excellent.  Starting with the Calamari appetizer which had a lively and well balanced flavor.  The Peking Duck was delicious as were the sesame  chicken and sweet and sour pork ribs.  The Egg Fu Yung was the best I have had in a long time.  It wasn't smothered by vegetables  and meats, but had a great flavor and you actually tasted the egg.  I love their Dim Sum which is made for lunches, but now I know Their dinners are exceptional also. The Employees are attentive and quick to assist with your needs.  It's a Must Try.

Best Chinese food in Sacramento.  Restaurant gets crowded so expect a wait but it's definitely worth it.  Pan fried noodles and honey walnut shrimp are delicious!  Dim sum items are good as well.

This new restaurant stands out as one of the nicest in Natomas...used to be Johnny Carinos off Truxel Blvd.   Natomas is full of fast food/casual dining and the ambiance at each is fine ...this strikes me as old school classic Chinese Restaurant...ambiance is beautiful and service is impeccable...casual attire is OK...so don't let the beautiful interior throw you off.

First time here!! Can I just say this place looks amazing?? It's fairly new and the design is beautiful! We did not order anything from the menu but only from the dim sum carts! The ladies that brings the carts around comes in a timely manner so you don't always have to wait on them or the food! The ladies spoke minimal English and understand when I asked them of certain items so that is a plus and they were eager to help if I had ask for a certain item.

Dim sum items: 4.5/5 great tasting dimsum and they do offer a lot of varieties!! The food are not that salty like some other dim sum place. I like their chili oil-I'm VERY particular about this item at any dim sum restaurant! One thing I would say is that for their lotus wrapped sticky rice they put an orange looking item in there and I didn't like it that much over all the meat and sticky rice was great!

Service: 5/5 very great service indeed! They cleared out out plates as we were done eating and did not rush us when we were done and catching up with one another!! The manager I believe who wore a blue shirt cleared out our plates but encourage us to continue to converse at the table. They did a great job refilling our water and tea.

The dining area is large and can fit big groups. I like the craft work and the design of the restaurant. There are three flat screen tv and I think they have sliding doors for private dinning as well.

Overall, very great experience! Nice, friendly  atmosphere! I would like to dine at this place some time in the future again.

I'm glad we tried this place again, because this is my new favorite dim sum place! It is really fresh and high quality. There's a decent selection too. Excellent and attentive service. The trick is to go during the weekends before 3pm.

The last time we went (many months ago), the service was also excellent, but we got the Peking duck and a few seafood and veggie dishes off the menu that were a bit bland and not so memorable. I think it was during a week day during a late afternoon.

Lastly, the decor is really beautiful and the restaurant ambiance is great. It's certainly one of the cleanest places I've ever been to. It reminded me of the nice restaurants you might find in China, that's complete with the fancy menus that have lots of pictures in them.

The egg tarts, pinapple buns, and taro balls were delicious. I really liked that you could taste the cilantro in various dumplings and that all of the flavors were distinct. Also, they were flavorful but not too salty.

My new favorite place for dim sum in Sacramento. It looks a little cheesy on the outside (like a Marie Calenders or Mimi's Cafe) but once inside it is pretty "classy" for a Chinese restaurant - pretty furniture, lighting, wallpaper. I mean there are the ubiquitous flat panel tvs, but it's a big step up from the usual haphazard Chinese restaurant interiors.

Service was quick and attentive (again for a Chinese restaurant) - no evil eyes or throwing of food on the table.

The food was delicious - specifically the food came out very fresh and hot temperature wise - often dim sum is room temperature. Not here, everything tasted like it was made to order.

The quality of food is exceptionally good.  The staff is very helpful n cordial.  The salty egg yolk strained bean n pumpkin was excellent.  Definitely a return in the near future.

I had a bad experience the last time I came here, but I gave them another chance - I have no regrets. Much better management and service from the last time I came here. My family came to visit, so took them here for dim sum lunch on a Sunday.

We were seated right away, and the waiter made sure we got our tea/drinks. There was a great selection of dim sum, and the carts were pretty easy to track down. Even though they didn't have our dishes in the carts, we asked for them and the waiters made sure we got them.

Dim sum was good and prices were reasonable. We ordered a lot of food too - shrimp dumplings, siu mai, chicken feet, Shanghai dumplings, etc. We even ordered the abalone & chicken porridge. Yum. We had a table of 6, and our total came to about $100.

Overall, pretty satisfied with their service and food. Will definitely be coming back again!

So nice place, saw the star level wasn't very good, didn't really expect much. On the way back from ski trip, it turns out a very authentic dim sum place, proved by my friend from Hong Kong, yeah, will stop next time too.

Came here twice. Once was for dim sum. There was a line out the door on Sunday for the dim sum service. But the food was excellent and well worth the wait. Fantastic place

Best dimsum place in Sacramento!
Authentic chinese place. Great service. Will definitely come back.

Location: 1/1 Star
A little isolated, but that's the nature of the area. Restaurant is bright, clean, spacious.

Food: 2/2 Star
Dim sum at its best. Clean, light, layered flavors. House special chow mein was masterful, as the chef managed to keep the squid toothsome and tender, and still put some color and sear on the bean sprouts and noodles. Some specialty dishes here that you won't see anywhere else, including a special shrimp stuffed fried bread rice roll that is very technically difficult.

Customer Service: 2/2 Star
Dim sum restaurants have a different type of service. Speed and precision are the name of the game, not useless mothering and nagging. They accomplished this very well, tea was on the table before we had even settled and never went below 1/4. The push cart ladies were very willing to explain the fillings of each dim sum (in English no less), and the kitchen orders were communicated quickly and well.

Notes: Dim sum comes in four overall levels: freezer crap; cheap, simplistic, decent quality; mid-level, basic, homogenous, satisfying; high level artistic flavor play in a small bite sized portion. Yue Huang is in the fourth and best tier. The ha gaw has ginger and snowcress bits to accent the shrimp, the siu mai has parsley and chive to marry the shrimp and pork, and even the taro puff housed a surprise inner filling of minced pork, water chestnut, and herbal greens. They even managed to deep fry and put a crust on a silken tofu to use as a base for their shrimp topped tofu.

The aforementioned rice roll involved wrapping a shrimp, spinach, ginger, chives based filling in a sleeve of Chinese fried bread. Then it is fried, rested, rolled in a thick rice wrapper, then steamed just until the rice wrapped is cooked, maintaining the crisp lightness of the middle fried bread layer. Technically difficult, executed well.

This place is on par with the best dim sum restaurants both locally in Sacramento (Asian Pearl) and in SF (which may sound like heresy to some, but it's true). I'll have to come back again to see if the experience is a consistent one before I really rank it as my #1. At this point how

The best dim sum and Chinese dinner restaurant in town. Some time parking could be hard to find even they have a good size parking lot. Excellent service, even better or as good as the best Chinese restaurants in the Bay Area. Price is reasonable. Both dim sum and dinner is good. This is my new favorite restaurant in town.

Food was good. Service was great. Got the shrimp dim sum dumpling stuff. It was really good and had great flavor.

It's great dim sum. Not Hong kong great or Frisco great. But I've had worse dim sum in both cities...
It's in natomas. Compared to every other dim sum option that makes it a 5.

You want great dim sum?  Consider this instead of new canton. Fast and family friendly?  Compare to happy garden.

I grew up in Chinatown, so I tasted a lot of Cantonese food over the years. I've eaten here 4 times and each time I've had an excellent experience. I order directly off the menu(not dim sum) and have had some of the freshest shrimp and fish dishes ever. The staff has always been overly polite as is custom. I even ordered off the low priced lunch menu and had some of the best Kung Pao Shrimp in memory. Its turned me into a regular.

Been loving this restaurant. Great dim sum, yummy menu items, good lunch specials, good service, easy parking. We don't even live close by. Have to say the dim sum is more expensive compared to SoCal (to be expected) but we like it more than the Stockton blvd options. Try the chow fun, clay pot with the fish/pork belly.

Heading back from Sacramento this evening and knew I wouldn't be home in time for anything worth eating when I saw Yue Huang from the freeway.

I made it in with about thirty minutes before closing but was happily welcomed in. The service was friendly and the food great. Best Kung Pao Shrimp I have had in a long time!   To top everything, I want looking at prices when I ordered and was very pleased with how reasonable the meal was.

This was our first time here. Nicely decorated and has a great family feel and ambiance. Portions are large which allows people to share meals around the table. They have dim sum carts that come around with freshly made authentic foods. They have large fresh fish tanks for made to order meals, lobster, catfish, crab etc. I had the rainbow chicken with vegetarian chow mein (enough food for 2 days) and it was great. This is not your dime a dozen "Chinese Food" Place. They strive to provide an authentic experience and they do a great job. Great people who want you to enjoy yourself. Get some hot tea and sake and enjoy!!!

Was bummed that they don't serve dim sum on the weekday after 3pm, but their items on their regular menu was legit! Ordered the Peking duck with steamed bun, sweet & sour pork, scallop egg soup, and house special pan fried noodles (chicken, seafood, & veggies). Everything was very tasty and the portions were pretty good for the price. Staff have a hard time speaking English, but they were attentive the whole time and made sure everything tasted good and that we were happy.

They give complimentary hot tea and sesame bean mochi balls after your meal... Score! I would definitely come back for more and excited to try their dim sum soon.

The inside is newly renovated (old Johnny Carino's) and was beautiful, unlike most Chinese restaurants in the area. This place is a must try!

I was excited when I found out a dim sum restaurant was opening up in Natomas and this place did not disappoint. I am actually shocked at the negative reviews it has received and has only been open less than two weeks. With the size of the place and extensive menu, customers need to keep in mind if takes time to work out all the kinks and perfect the service.

The place is beautiful; the interior is large and well decorated.

The food is very authentic. I am half Taiwanese and many of the dishes reminded me of dishes I ate as a child in Hsinchu.

The service was superb. Staff was attentive and checked on us quite frequently.

Overall, it was great and I will certainly be coming back.

Coming from the bay, there's an abundance of good to great dim sum spots. I was shocked when we moved here and found very few dim sum places.   Fast forward about a year to the date,  and my wife stumbled upon this place.  Dim sum was fresh, food tasted good and my son gave it the thumbs up. So happy to have found this place that reminds me of where we lived before West Sac.  Ha gow, siu mai, bbq pork and (most importantly) the roast pork with its crispy skin and layers of meat and fat were excellent. We ordered a half peking duck as well.  The buns were good but we found the duck a bit too greasy....like it had been reheated.

Would have been nice if they had a selection of teas as well.

I may be blinded by my love of dim sum and its absence in my life for the last year, but I give this place 5 stars.

I like this place! Clean and nice decor. Not your typical cheap looking chair and plain tables. The ladies pushing the carts were sweet and helpful. The server was very accommodating as well as the host. We came to try the dim sum. I have been craving for a long time and didn't want to deal with the traffic going to the south area. I'm excited that we have one in Natomas now. The food was good/decent. The spare ribs had very little meat on it. It was almost anorexic. Won't order that again. I loved the tofu shrimps one of the cart ladies had suggested. She said it was very popular. She was absolutely right! It tasted so good and also a plus when you want to avoid rice or carbs. I really liked their tea and their tea pot, it was so adorable. I would give it a 4 stars because I didn't like how the manager came to pick up the cash tips we left for the wait staff while we were still sitting there finishing our tea. I don't know the etiquette of dining at dim sum or what they do with their tips but I thought that was unpleasant. Made it looked like we didn't tip before we left. I'm a good tipper for good service, I don't appreciate looking like I'm cheap. Plus it wasn't for her. We never even interacted with her. At least wait til we leave, not while we were sitting there. I'll still come back though. I liked everything else about this restaurant so far.
