It's great place and the prices is good
I like the food ...
Lunch and I go every week for lunch and my friends love this place

New Szechuan place? Had to try it out! Upon walking in, there is a sign in tablet if it's too busy and there are no tables available. We got sat down right when we got in though as there is a table available. You order your items from a tablet, which has pictures and descriptions and then the server comes to your table to verify what you ordered. The food all came out together at once fairly quickly, despite it being quite busy. Me and my friend ordered the grapefruit iced tea, passion fruit iced tea, shrimp chilli pot with addition of pork belly and tripe, chicken wonton soup and spicy wonton soup. All of them were good in flavor and though we got mild, we could still taste the spiciness! And the wontons had a good amount of wontons in them.
This place has two floors, so they have plenty of seats and tables. They're still in their soft opening so you get 20% off your tab and also free dessert! The service is also good and attentive. All in all, would recommend this place and will probably come back!

Right now - Chuan on Capital is having their soft opening in Capital Hill. They are still figuring out the ingredient demands so go early to avoid them running out. They also are promoting their business with 20% off your entire bill during their soft opening.
This restaurant is all about the Szechuan cuisine and spices! I have always been a fan of having the spicy tingly numbing feeling and frequently eat at places that feature this. So I was very excited to hear of this restaurant opening up.
We ordered spare ribs chili pot, shrimp fried rice, ma la tang with the additions of pork belly, sliced beef, cuttlefish ball, Chinese cabbage, fish tofu and enoki mushrooms with a refreshing grapefruit iced tea to wash it all down. The standout dish for me is the spare ribs chili pot. The pot comes with a gel flame fire to keep your chili pot sizzling. The flavors of the sauce had a nice saltiness and spice with flavors of Sichuan peppers stir-fried in a hot wok with ginger, garlic, peppers, and onions. I was torn about choosing this chili pot with prawns or chicken wings. There was a whole page of variation and you can also customize with addons like we did with the ma la tang. I thought we ordered too many dishes for the two of us, but it ended up being enough food. The portion sizes are on the small/medium range, so you will need to order several dishes to try!
This place is very modern and sleek! As you enter, you have a window to the kitchen where they have a fired-up wok cooking food. There is two levels of seating and the restaurant is very open. There are long tables that can accommodate bigger groups too! The staff was very friendly and helpful. Fun Fact: They use a tablet to order from! There is a tablet sitting on every table next to a sign with your table number. All you need to do is scroll for your table number and begin ordering. The server hinted that the future may lead to a scanner for the table number instead.
Overall: I would come back for that chili pot, drinks and to try other dishes. Price to food ratio is on the higher end but it's likely because of the location. This place is tapping into a cuisine is one of the very few in it's neighborhood so its good to spread out the options and bring Szechuan cuisine mainstream!

Pretty authentic Chinese dishes. Love the spicy sauce. The server is so friendly. Great price for the food.

I HAVE to update this review. The first time I came we got a mild dry pot and didn't find it had the kick Szechuan food normally has and left a little disappointed. But we came back a second time to try the dry pot in spicy and what a difference. It had so much more of that spicy and numbing kick. Definitely will be back.

Thrilled to spot a newly opened Chinese restaurant in Capitol Hill featuring spicy Sichuan cuisines! My fiend and I arrived around 7pm and waited about 15min before got seated, which was ok for us. Liked the inner decoration, modern and mixed with some Chinese elements. It was really a breeze to order on the iPad, fast and convenient. We had Mr. and Mrs. Smith for appetizer and the chili hot pot for entree. Both were spicy and authentic, and we were really satisfied with the flavor. The veggies and the meat went well together. I also wanted to try the sweet rice balls, but unfortunately they were sold out. The waiter also recommended their Ma La Tang. Definitely will come back and try more!

New kid on the hill, so had to check it out. Plus who doesn't like a 20% off and free dessert from the soft opening. The space is big and clean. You order through an iPad which I prefer anyway since it fast and efficient. The food arrived quickly and everything was delicious. Especially the noodles. The food is on the oilier and rich side. Also even the spicy-spicy chicken was not really that spicy. Highly recommend.

I was excited to hear there was a new Chinese restaurant in town and even more excited when I found out it was Chengdu style. We ordered a Chuan pot with chicken and a Ma La Tang with balls of pork and shrimp with broccoli as a side and dumplings. I enjoy spicy food and it met my expectations!  If you prefer less of a burn, you can order it mild.  Service was great and the food came to the table quickly. I'm definitely coming back to try more dishes soon!

I give a five points of praise, as a real sichuanese, here, whether it is the food itself, decoration style, or the chef inside, are original and authentic sichuan flavor. Meeting old friends in a foreign country, living in a foreign country and eating such authentic food really made me cry. I hope you can give more tolerance, to make the customer satisfied is to do the duty of the restaurant, so I also want to provide some opinions, make the restaurant better, I hope to offer some of the samples, show spiciness sweetness and saltiness, so customers can confirm oneself is more suitable for what kind of degree, so as to truly satisfy. Finally, I hope the business of this restaurant is getting better and better, and I will come again.

Authentic dry pot - the flavor is so gooooood! Ma La Tang doesn't have the authentic flavor profile but still very good. The price is a bit high but the location is great.

Happy to see a Chinese restaurant open in Cap Hill that's actually run by Chinese people as opposed to someone who went to culinary school and was inspired by the flavors of China.
The decor and set up was done really well. The interior is beautiful, modern, and clean and they also have iPads for their waitlist and to order off their menu (think: Dough Zone and Boiling Point). The menu has some crowd pleasers as well as some items for more adventurous eaters but the offerings are definitely sufficient. We ordered the Mr and Mrs Smith, the Pork Intestine Dry Chili Pot and the Mala Tang. All came out with great portion size (the Dry Chili Pot and the Mala Tang could probably each be shared by two people) for a good price, and I found this place authentic enough with plenty of numbing Mala-ness to the dishes. The service was great - the wait staff was attentive and polite, and the food came out in mere minutes.
This place has some pretty darn good Szechuan food for Cap Hill and it's clear to me that this was an absolute love project and many of the details were thought out so well. The dishes and napkins were branded with the restaurant's logo, an iPad is already set up for waitlists and menu ordering off of the iPad makes me think ordering for pickup or delivery will also be easy. The restaurant feels homey yet upscale at the same time and I think it'll fit in wonderfully within the Capitol Hill restaurant scene.

I was pleasantly surprised by how good the food here was! The ma la tang was my favorite and a great portion. The spicy is pretty spicy though so keep that in mind. I'll be coming back!

The food was soooo good! It's the best Chuan cusine I've ever have in Seattle area. The owner is from Chengdu, which is a city famous for spicy food! So you got chance to try authentic Szechuan cusine! I got marinated beef with cilantro, pork intensities of chill pots, spicy wonton soup and spicy hot pot! I strongly recommend the drinks as well. Pineapple iced tea is my favorite so far! They used fresh fruit mixed with homemade tea so you can tell it's fresh!

Today was soft opening.   Attentative staff, good food.   Cool iPad ordering system,  very easy.   They specialize in dry pots.  Good size with great meat to vegetables ratio!!  Customizable with add ons and spice level.   Will be back!

The good: dumplings, soup with dumplings, spicy beef. Very shareable plates.

Chuan opened two days ago and I've already been twice - love it!  The service is excellent (servers are friendly, attentive, and more than willing to help if something goes wrong; s/o to our excellent waiter Coco!!).  The food is delicious and varied - the chili pots (their speciality) are full of flavor, tender meat, and plenty of veggies; there are also plenty of side dish options (wontons, noodles, fried rice, green beans) - most things are spicy but you can find a few non-spicy options.  Their drinks are incredible - I tried the hong kong milk tea and the iced teas (made with real fruit), both of which are tasty and authentic.  A welcome and unique addition to the CapHill restaurant scene :)
